He wasn't much for public life
He hadn't seen the strip in years
On some forgotten slot machines
His name and image still appears
People's interest never seemed to wane
Tabloids fuelled the fire that was his fame

He couldn't leave his home at night
Without the headlines chasing him
They gave him credit for the trends
He couldn't be less interested
Imprisoned by the legacy he built
His love of life that bloomed would finally wilt

Venom pays for avoid the rays
for the next season's blackest capes
his name inspired a slew of fashion craze

A fresh demand for the filthy bland
And the wings with impressive spans
With the reins will set the bar where it would stay

We thing he was wrong about the moonbeams
(you're making it up, you're making it up)
You count the leagues, but not the farm teams
(you're making it up, you're making it up)
True to his word he made us older
(you're making it up, you're making it up)
And brought the hemlines up and over
(you're making it up, you're making it aaahhh)
You may not believe me, but I think you're in denial
Dracula dreams of tiger style

He promised to fight to free the undead
(you're making it up, you're making it up)
And gave the Raiders' captain street cred
(you're making it up, you're making it up)
The pregnant seers don't mean surrender
(you're making it up, you're making it up)
He wrote a song you might remember
(you're making it up, you're making it aaahhh)
You may not believe me, but I think you're in denial
Dracula dreams of tiger style

Oooooooo

I'm tired of rumours starting
I'm sick of being followed
I'm tired of people lying
Saying what they want about me

Why can't they back up off me?
Why can't they let me live?
I'm gonna do things my way
Take this for what it is yeah

I'm tired of rumours starting
I'm sick of being followed
I'm tired of people lying
Saying what they want about me

Why can't they back up off me?
Why can't they let me live?
I'm gonna do things my way
Take this for what it is yeah

We're sick of the looks long forgotten
(you're making it up, you're making it aaahhh)
And forties films with Joesph Cotten
(you're making it up, you're making it aaahhh)
Disappoint his fans and paint the targets
(you're making it up, you're making it aaahhh)
Found miracles in supermarkets
(you're making it up, you're making it aaahhh)
You may not believe me, but I think you're in denial
Dracula dreams of tiger style
You may not believe me, but I think you're in denial
Dracula dreams of tiger style

Sit, sit, sit right back in your seat
(we're taking advice from the count)
Sit, sit, sit right back in your seat
(we're taking advice from the count)
Sit, sit, sit right back in your seat
(we're taking advice from the count)
Sit, sit, sit right back in your seat
(we're taking advice from the count)
Sit, sit, sit right back in your seat
(we're taking advice from the count)
Sit, sit, sit right back in your seat
(we're taking advice from the count)
Sit, sit, sit right back in your seat
(we're taking advice from the count)
Sit, sit, sit right back in your seat
(we're taking advice from the count)
Sit, sit, sit right back in your seat
(we're taking advice from the ahhhhhh)
You may not believe me, but I think you're in denial
Dracula dreams of tiger style

Daft punkish beats explained half empty seats, butterscotch on the sheets
(sugar-stained ooooo)
The comfort that's crept to the cracks and the cleft, til the falls all that's left
(sugar-stained ooooo
street lights may shine)
The steeper stairs you can climb
(street lights may shine)
The steeper stairs you can climb

The capes may retire, to the flames we admire, for the love kings inspire
(sugar-stained ooooo)
Despite flames that burst, through the bridge and verse, we don't count ourselves cursed
(sugar-stained ooooo
street lights may shine)
The steeper stairs you can climb
(street lights may shine)
The steeper stairs you can climb

Rock of ages played the band
He never turned, we understand
A silent crowd at Randolph's gates
Marie Celeste with beechwood waits
A haunted castle's payphone rings
The distant voice of Bela sings
We always thought you'd live forever
But every scene, it needs its centre

Son Şansın - Şarkı Sözleri
Hayalperest
This song seemingly tackles the methods of deception those who manipulate others use to get victims to follow their demands, as well as diverting attention away from important issues. They'll also use it as a means to convince people to hate or kill others by pretending acts of terrorism were committed by the enemy when the acts themselves were done by the masters of control to promote discrimination and hate. It also reinforces the idea that these manipulative forces operate in various locations, infiltrating everyday life without detection, and propagate any and everywhere. In general, it highlights the danger of hidden agendas, manipulation, and distraction, serving as a critique of those who exploit chaos and confusion to control and gain power, depicting a cautionary tale against falling into their traps. It encourages us to question the narratives presented to us and remain vigilant against manipulation in various parts of society.

I think much like another song “Anti-Matter” (that's also on the same album as this song), this one is also is inspired by a horrifying van crash the band experienced on Nov 3, 2022. This, much like the other track, sounds like it's an extension what they shared while huddled in the wreckage, as they helped frontman Garrett Russell stem the bleeding from his head wound while he was under the temporary effects of a concussion. The track speaks of where the mind goes at the most desperate & desolate of times, when it just about slips away to all but disconnect itself, and the aftermath.

Gentle Hour
Yo La Tengo
This song was originally written by a guy called Peter Gutteridge. He was one of the founders of the "Dunedin Sound" a musical scene in the south of New Zealand in the early 80s. From there it was covered by "The Clean" one of the early bands of that scene (he had originally been a member of in it's early days, writing a couple of their best early songs). The Dunedin sound, and the Clean became popular on american college radio in the mid to late 80s. I guess Yo La Tengo heard that version. Great version of a great song,

Amazing
Ed Sheeran
Ed Sheeran tells a story of unsuccessfully trying to feel “Amazing.” This track is about the being weighed down by emotional stress despite valiant attempts to find some positivity in the situation. This track was written by Ed Sheeran from the perspective of his friend. From the track, we see this person fall deeper into the negative thoughts and slide further down the path of mental torment with every lyric.

Page
Ed Sheeran
There aren’t many things that’ll hurt more than giving love a chance against your better judgement only to have your heart crushed yet again. Ed Sheeran tells such a story on “Page.” On this track, he is devastated to have lost his lover and even more saddened by the feeling that he may never move on from this.
