I got bills to pay, overdue since May
But paying bills ain't something I'm a do today
I'd rather write a rhyme about the life I threw away
Are you the reason that my skies went from blue to gray?

I wasn't me, love ain't nothing but a four letter word
When you heard what I did, my bridges were burned
And now I'm stuck on the wrong side, it's gonna be a long night
All the fine girls in the world, they don't mean nothing now

[Chorus]
'Cause women come and women go
But for something real, you gotta take it slow
I ain't too smart, but one thing I know is
Nobody wanna live alone
Say you love me one more time
Say you need me to get by
Say you love me and I'll be just fine

[Repeat: x3]
I'll be just fine

Oh yeah, I'll be just fine if you give me just half of your time
'Cause your kiss is so delicious like this glass of fine wine
I'm a drink it up, see I can't get me enough
And when you're gone, I'll write you letters just to send you my love

And it ain't cool what I did, but I made a mistake
Then made a fool of myself when I let your heart break
I'm laying with this girl, but I don't know her name
And I don't love her half as much as this guitar that I'm playing
Oh, oh, oh

[Chorus]

I'll be just fine when I know that you're mine again
(I'll be just fine)
Lets do this thing one more time again
(I'll be just fine)
'Cause I'll never feel fly again
Till we're walking down the street in time again
(I'll be just fine)
Won't you throw me a sign again
(I'll be just fine)

I'll write your name on my rhyme again
I'm on a corner and I'm begging for change
Like a bum out of luck, I'm holding a sign that says

[Chorus]

[Repeat: x6]
I'll be just fine

Oh yeah

G Love is always lots of fun, but has anyone else noticed that the music to this song sounds just like a slowed down version of Hook by Blues Traveler? Try singing the lyrics to Hook while this song is playing - it matches up almost exactly.

Light Up The Sky
Van Halen
The song lyrics were written by the band Van Halen, as they were asked to write a song for the 1979 movie "Over the Edge" starring Matt Dillon. The movie (and the lyrics, although more obliquely) are about bored, rebellious youth with nothing better to do than get into trouble. If you see the movie, these lyrics will make more sense. It's a great movie if you grew up in the 70s/80s you'll definitely remember some of these characters from your own life. Fun fact, after writing the song, Van Halen decided not to let the movie use it.

Mountain Song
Jane's Addiction
Jane's Addiction vocalist Perry Farrell gives Adam Reader some heartfelt insight into Jane’s Addiction's hard rock manifesto "Mountain Song", which was the second single from their revolutionary album Nothing's Shocking. Mountain song was first recorded in 1986 and appeared on the soundtrack to the film Dudes starring Jon Cryer. The version on Nothing's Shocking was re-recorded in 1988. "'Mountain Song' was actually about... I hate to say it but... drugs. Climbing this mountain and getting as high as you can, and then coming down that mountain," reveals Farrell. "What it feels to descend from the mountain top... not easy at all. The ascension is tough but exhilarating. Getting down is... it's a real bummer. Drugs is not for everybody obviously. For me, I wanted to experience the heights, and the lows come along with it." "There's a part - 'Cash in now honey, cash in Miss Smith.' Miss Smith is my Mother; our last name was Smith. Cashing in when she cashed in her life. So... she decided that, to her... at that time, she was desperate. Life wasn't worth it for her, that was her opinion. Some people think, never take your life, and some people find that their life isn't worth living. She was in love with my Dad, and my Dad was not faithful to her, and it broke her heart. She was very desperate and she did something that I know she regrets."
