There comes a day when we all find out for ourselves
That once we have the words to say there's no one left to tell
I know why you're running away

There's a place where nothing seems to be assembled quite cohesively
It's all your mind, all your mind
Something little shouldn't feel this way, we got a million thoughts we can't convey
It's all your life, all your life

It's four in the morning
You got one more chance to die
Like beautiful stories
The greatest chapters flew right by
There comes a day when we all find out for ourselves
That once we have the words to say there's no one left to tell
I know why you're running away

These things don't happen here, another fictional reality
It's all you'll find, all you'll find
It's just as good as any other day, I'm gonna teach you about mortality
No it's not right, it's not right

It's four in the morning
You got one more chance to die
Like beautiful stories
The greatest chapters flew right by
There comes a day when we all find out for ourselves
That once we have the words to say there's no one left to tell
I know why you're running away

In many ways I guess I'll never let you go
I'm close behind but I've got room here left to grow
Until our second chance
Just enjoy the dance and find out who we are (these dreams will never leave you)
Let's find out what we are (these dream will never leave you)
(Never leave you, don't ask me why)

It's four in the morning
You got one more chance to die
Like beautiful stories
The greatest chapters flew right by
There comes a day when we all find out for ourselves
That once we have the words to say there's no one left to tell
I know why you're running
I know why you're running away

    Song Meaning

Amazing song, I'm surprised it didn't make the album... Its meaning is pretty ambiguous but from what I can gather it's about how life isn't easy and how when all is looking well and good, life can be suddenly changed for worse. "These things don't happen here, another fictional reality, It's all you'll find, all you'll find! It's just as good as any other day, I'm gonna teach you about mortality, No, it's not right, it's not right!" It seems like a tragedy has occurred in his (previously) happy life, and he is denying that the tragedy had ever occurred in the first place because he cannot comprehend the scale of it (could have something to do with The Rev?). The whole 4 in the morning thing probably refers to the fact that in some places the sun rises at 4 AM, thus it heralds the new day, and we could easily give up everything but we choose to move on and face whatever challenges the new day brings. The song also seems to be directed at someone but it's difficult to tell of whom... Oh and Syn's solo is awesome :P

    My Interpretation

My guess, both from studying the lyrics and relating it to my own life, is that it's about the dangers of mental illnesses and how much they can control people's lives if sufferers aren't careful to monitoring the symptoms.

The first verse talks about overthinking the tiniest things and how it's probably nothing wrong at all yet an anxious person's mind will be racing a million miles an hour trying to understand what's going on.

The chorus focuses more as a make-or-break statement. It's basically a metaphor saying "if you don't break free of the shackles of anxiety/mental disorders, you'll simply permit them to control your life in the long run and miss out on so much in life".

Second verse focuses more on someone's realization that anxiety is taking over their life. Not really much more I can get from this verse to be honest.

The bridge talks about someone coming to the realization that their mental illness will cloud them forever, but they still have a life they can take control of and live to the best of their ability.

Not sure if this has any significance to the meaning of the song, but almost five years ago to the day, Zacky posted on the Avenged Sevenfold Twitter page: "Tracking is complete. There are no words that will ever describe the feeling of listening to this album while driving home alone at 4 am."

Didn't "4:00 A.M." come from an interview where Zacky talked about how he couldn't stop thinking about Jimmy's death when he was driving home at 4 in the morning one night?

Light Up The Sky
Van Halen
The song lyrics were written by the band Van Halen, as they were asked to write a song for the 1979 movie "Over the Edge" starring Matt Dillon. The movie (and the lyrics, although more obliquely) are about bored, rebellious youth with nothing better to do than get into trouble. If you see the movie, these lyrics will make more sense. It's a great movie if you grew up in the 70s/80s you'll definitely remember some of these characters from your own life. Fun fact, after writing the song, Van Halen decided not to let the movie use it.

Son Şansın - Şarkı Sözleri
Hayalperest
This song seemingly tackles the methods of deception those who manipulate others use to get victims to follow their demands, as well as diverting attention away from important issues. They'll also use it as a means to convince people to hate or kill others by pretending acts of terrorism were committed by the enemy when the acts themselves were done by the masters of control to promote discrimination and hate. It also reinforces the idea that these manipulative forces operate in various locations, infiltrating everyday life without detection, and propagate any and everywhere. In general, it highlights the danger of hidden agendas, manipulation, and distraction, serving as a critique of those who exploit chaos and confusion to control and gain power, depicting a cautionary tale against falling into their traps. It encourages us to question the narratives presented to us and remain vigilant against manipulation in various parts of society.

Holiday
Bee Gees
@[Diderik:33655] "Your a holiday!" Was a popular term used in the 50s/60s to compliment someone on their all around. For example, not only are they beautiful, but they are fun and kind too ... just an all around "holiday". I think your first comment is closer to being accurate. The singer/song writers state "Millions of eyes can see, yet why am i so blind!? When the someone else is me, its unkind its unkind". I believe hes referring to the girl toying with him and using him. He wants something deeper with her, thats why he allows himself to be as a puppet (even though for her fun and games) as long as it makes her happy. But he knows deep down that she doesnt really want to be serious with him and thats what makes him.

Gentle Hour
Yo La Tengo
This song was originally written by a guy called Peter Gutteridge. He was one of the founders of the "Dunedin Sound" a musical scene in the south of New Zealand in the early 80s. From there it was covered by "The Clean" one of the early bands of that scene (he had originally been a member of in it's early days, writing a couple of their best early songs). The Dunedin sound, and the Clean became popular on american college radio in the mid to late 80s. I guess Yo La Tengo heard that version. Great version of a great song,
