"Soft Skin" as written by and Jamie Scott Daniel Bryer....
I got soft skin
Are you gonna let me in?
Warm amber eyes of a lion
On the couch
Cool green tiles in the kitchen
Cleaned up a quart of spilled milk in the moonlight
We were sleeping wet and tight
In our iron bed

Pictures shake and fall from the wall to the hard, hard floor
We shake and fall from the wall to the hard, hard floor

We’re so wet and we’re so tight
Beat me down into the floor tonight
Can’t you understand I’m trying to be a good woman?

Let me go

General CommentThese 3 women are sirens I swear. I haven't really thought too much about the meaning behind this song, but if I had to guess I'd say it's about a woman who is totally devoted to her man and is willing to give herself away completely to him. Yet a part of her knows the relationship is toxic and wants to be out of it.

General CommentMolly wrote this song and put this explanation on the official Mountain Man website:

"Soft Skin is a series of questions following the first line of the song, 'I’ve got soft skin, are you gonna let me in?'
It plays off the associations between women, their soft skin, and vulnerability, or openness within (sexual) relationships (Molly’s generalization). Soft Skin is meant to question the origins and entaglements of the desire for violence in sex (socialization?), as well as the blurry lines between love, lust and gender roles as played out through ‘intimacy’. Enjoy."
