There's a man, runnin' hot
And there's a night train
I know he's gonna stick it out
Ride that crazy white horse

He's a man
He's a pig in paradise
But he might get blown into the weeds tonight

Seems like there's a record stuck
And man I couldn't make it up
He's a cool hand Luke
He's a duke on a slippery slope

He's dispossessed and crazy
Thank you for nothing baby
All those dreams are going up in smoke

I said
Hey Floyd, you got your mind in a mess again
Hey Floyd, you gotta learn how to break the chain

Oh oh, yeh eh

There's a night train to your heartbreak
Get on
It's the dream time
That's been driving you on

No more blue sky hanging over your head
So what you gonna do Floyd?
(Do Floyd)
I gotta know, gotta know what you're gonna do

What ya gonna do, what ya gonna do?
What ya gonna do Floyd? (do Floyd)
I gotta know, I've gotta know what you're going to do

There's a night train to your heartbreak get on
It's the dream time
That's been driving you on, and on

No more blue sky hanging over your head
No more blue skies hanging over you ooh

Come on Floyd!

Shoot 'em up and shoot 'em down
Cut down this bird of freedom
Kick it, stick it, doin' what you can

Gotta make the pieces fit
Get rid of all that shit
Floyd, you can't forget that you're a man

I said
Hey Floyd, you got your mind in a mess again
Hey Floyd, you got time on your hands to mend

Come on Floyd!
Gotta learn to break the chain down baby
Hey Floyd!
Gotta learn to break the chain down baby

Get off that shotgun ride
I know how much you tried
To blow the high priestess of pain away

You're a lone extravaganza
A dirty player and a dirty dancer
Hell man, you don't even know your name

Hey Floyd, you got your mind in a mess again
(You got your mind in a mess again)
Hey Floyd, you gotta learn how to break the chain
(Dirty player, dirty dancer)

Come on Floyd
(Dirty player, dirty dancer)
It's all I ask of you
(Dirty player, dirty dancer)
Come on Floyd
It's all I ask of you

Hey Floyd,
Don't get your mind in a mess again

I wonder if this song has any connections to Pink Flyod? Talking about A pig, blue sky, record stuck. I'm not a Pink Floyd expert, but it seems like there's more.

I agree with another poster that its quite funny other fans haven't spoken up here. Jamiroquai music is definitely fun first and may not be as deep as other acts but nevertheless has a lot of soul and this song was one of the most interesting ones to think about.

Honestly though there isn't much depth to explore as all the lyrics should add up for anyone who is even remotely exposed to popculture (note I did NOT say drugs) would figure out the following verses:

Riding the white horse is VERY COMMONLY used along with riding the train in movies etc for drug references. It can be used for coke as cocaine is also white but actually more fitting for this song is the true meaning of riding the white horse which is for heroin. China White is a type of Heroin which is the most pure. Why heroin and not coke here? Because if you understand the drugs , you get that coke is not taken to escape from pain but to excite yourself in a usually already good mood. Heroin is commonly used as a drug to escape pain as it is an excellent blocker to physical and psychic pains (Kurt Cobain & stomach issues anyone?).

The song goes on with further references to support heroin as follows: Night train to your heartbreak, No more blue skies so what are you going to do ? (As drug users often don't stop to think and will instinctively use drugs to escape the pain without even giving themselves a chance to try any other method to be free of it).

Also, the phrase shoot em up . stick it seem to heavily reference how heroin is commonly used, to shoot, to stick means to inject.

There's many other references but mind in a mess etc is probably the easiest tell.

Anyway, one could easily be forgiven for saying coke though because lead singer JayKay has openly admitted to kicking a long running habit of coke a while back and may have been drawing on that time for inspiration to the song.

Floyd is up for grabs anyway can't find anything significant about it & doesn't have to do with the band afaik.

Anyway, the song is musically perfect as it combines up beat funk with a beautiful breakdown section of ska/reggae beat and does this perfectly without losing any of it's vibe. Just a song I could listen to all the time. LOVE IT!

Son Şansın - Şarkı Sözleri
Hayalperest
This song seemingly tackles the methods of deception those who manipulate others use to get victims to follow their demands, as well as diverting attention away from important issues. They'll also use it as a means to convince people to hate or kill others by pretending acts of terrorism were committed by the enemy when the acts themselves were done by the masters of control to promote discrimination and hate. It also reinforces the idea that these manipulative forces operate in various locations, infiltrating everyday life without detection, and propagate any and everywhere. In general, it highlights the danger of hidden agendas, manipulation, and distraction, serving as a critique of those who exploit chaos and confusion to control and gain power, depicting a cautionary tale against falling into their traps. It encourages us to question the narratives presented to us and remain vigilant against manipulation in various parts of society.

Little Feat
Overall about difficult moments of disappointment and vulnerability. Having hope and longing, while remaining optimistic for the future. Encourages the belief that with each new morning there is a chance for things to improve. The chorus offers a glimmer of optimism and a chance at a resolution and redemption in the future. Captures the rollercoaster of emotions of feeling lost while loving someone who is not there for you, feeling let down and abandoned while waiting for a lover. Lost with no direction, "Now I'm up in the air with the rain in my hair, Nowhere to go, I can go anywhere" The bridge shows signs of longing and a plea for companionship. The Lyrics express a desire for authentic connection and the importance of Loving someone just as they are. "Just in passing, I'm not asking. That you be anyone but you”

I Can't Go To Sleep
Wu-Tang Clan
This song is written as the perspective of the boys in the street, as a whole, and what path they are going to choose as they get older and grow into men. (This is why the music video takes place in an orphanage.) The seen, and unseen collective suffering is imbedded in the boys’ mind, consciously or subconsciously, and is haunting them. Which path will the boys choose? Issac Hayes is the voice of reason, maybe God, the angel on his shoulder, or the voice of his forefathers from beyond the grave who can see the big picture and are pleading with the boys not to continue the violence and pattern of killing their brothers, but to rise above. The most beautiful song and has so many levels. Racism towards African Americans in America would not exist if everyone sat down and listened to this song and understood the history behind the words. The power, fear, pleading in RZA and Ghostface voices are genuine and powerful. Issac Hayes’ strong voice makes the perfect strong father figure, who is possibly from beyond the grave.
