"Haunted" as written by and Taylor Swift....
You and I walk a fragile line
I have known it all this time
But I never thought I'd live to see it break
It's getting dark and its all too quiet
And I can't trust anything now
And its comin' over you like its all a big mistake

Holding my breath, won't lose you again
Something's made your eyes go cold

Come on, come on don't leave me like this
I thought I had you figured out
Something's gone terribly wrong, you're all I wanted
Come on, come on don't leave me like this
I thought I had you figured out
Can't breathe whenever you're gone
Can't turn back, now I'm haunted

Stood there and watched you walk away
From everything we had
But I still mean every word I said to you
He will try to take away my pain
And he just might make me smile
But the whole time I'm wishin' he was you instead
Oh, oh, holding my breath, won't see you again
Something keeps me holding on to nothing

Come on, come on don't leave me like this
I thought I had you figured out
Something's gone terribly wrong, you're all I wanted
Come on, come on don't leave me like this
I thought I had you figured out
Can't breathe whenever you're gone
Can't turn back, now I'm haunted

I know, I know, I just know
You're not gone, you can't be gone
No

Come on, come on don't leave me like this
I thought I had you figured out
Something's gone terribly wrong, won't finish what you started
Come on, come on don't leave me like this
I thought I had you figured out
Can't breathe whenever you're gone
Can't go back, I'm haunted

Oh, oh, oh, oh, oh
You and I walk a fragile line
I have known it all this time
Never ever thought I'd see it break
Never thought I'd see it

General CommentI feel like I can relate this song to being in a relationship where you never got full closure. And it get's to the point where it's haunting you because you don't know the answers to why the other person in the relationship just shut down and left you.

General CommentThis is a truly beautiul song. I think it's definitely about the shock and denial factor a lot of us go through right before a relationship ends and when it has ended. It's about being able to tell that person is fading from you but you don't want to admit it to yourself. And the chorus perfectly represets the confusion and thinking it shouldn't have ended like it did. Then it goes on to post break up and how you see them again and you hold onto that hope again..that something will change and you're not actually broken up. I really adore the lines "He will try to take away my pain and he just may make me smile. But the whole time I'm wishing he was you instead." it really describes exactly how you feel when you try to date someone (or maybe just get romantically involved slightly?) after a break up that hurt you deeply. This song really hits a nerve for me but I love it. It's so deep and personal and beautiul. The acoustic I'd outstanding, too.

General Commenti think this song is about being led on. because when it happens to you, your so head over heals for him you don't even realize he's only using you because he likes the fact that you like him so much, but he wants to flirt with everyone else. and even when you figure it all out, you are so hooked, you cant stop. exactly what she says, something keeps me holding onto nothing. something, you don't know what it is though, keeps you holding onto him when you know its all a big mistake. been there, done that. its not worth it.

General CommentI am actually going through something like this right now. I've fallen deeply in love with someone only to find out it was all for nothing and she is just teasing me and wants the attention. When I first met her, she was safe, we were close, and then that all went away at one point. Then I saw her acting like that around other people, I don't know what it is but there is still this wishful thinking that says it wasn't for nothing and she was being genuine... Bottom line, this song is about being lead on and not being able to let go and you don't know why. There is something about them and they just keep pulling you in and you can't help yourself. You think you know them but you don't. It hurts and it's tough to get through.

My InterpretationI can't add much to anything everyone else has said, except that I'm pretty sure this song is connected to "Sparks Fly". Just a hunch, because in her notes in the Speak Now booklet, she says there are songs dedicated to her first love who she never expected to be her first heartbreak, and in the "Sparks Fly" lyrics, there's a part where she says "give me something that'll haunt me when you're not around". So "Sparks Fly" is part one of the love story, where they first fell in love, and Haunted is the follow-up, where he broke her heart.

General CommentI love this song so much. This and Better Than Revenge both remind me of Paramore's songs. I love how she's sort of changing her song image a bit, but keeping it the same at the same time. Does that make sense?

General CommentTaylor explained this song's meaning on her website: "'Haunted' is about the moment that you realize the person you're in love with is drifting and fading fast. And you don't know what to do, but in that period of time, in that phase of love, where it's fading out, time moves so slowly. Everything hinges on what that last text message said, and you're realizing that he's kind of falling out of love. That's a really heartbreaking and tragic thing to go through, because the whole time you're trying to tell yourself it's not happening. I went through this, and I ended up waking up in the middle of the night writing this song about it."

Taylor explained why she used a string section for this song: "I wanted the music and the orchestration to reflect the intensity of the emotion the song is about, so we recorded strings with Paul Buckmaster at Capitol Studios in Los Angeles. It was an amazing experience - recording this entire big, live string section that I think in the end really captured the intense, chaotic feeling of confusion I was looking for."

My InterpretationI think some of these lyrics might fit into an Evanescence song, and that terrifies me. I could tell from the music at the beginning that this would be a dark song, but to hear Taylor Swift singing it and know she wrote it is scary.

My InterpretationPersonaly i think this song is talking about the film Twlight...

"coming over you like its all a big mistake"- Edward seeing bella
    "Lose you again"
"Your eyes go cold"- Edwards a vampire.. his eyes change..
"I cant breathe when your gone"- In the book bella feels like she cant breathe when Edwards gone.
"He will try to take away my pain and he just might make me smile but the whole time I'm wishing he was you instead"- Talking about Jacob.
