"The Time (Dirty Bit)" as written by and Daniele Marchitelli....
What would you do?
If I walked up to you
And I told ya how I feel
About ya now
And what would you say
If I took your breath away
And I loved you everyday
The way I do now

Would you let me love you, let me you long time
Would you let me love you, let me you long time
Would you let me love you, let me you long time
Would you let me love you, let me you long time

Boy I'll let you love me, let you love me long time
Boy I'll let you love me, let you love me long time
Boy I'll let you love me, let you love me long time
Boy I'll let you love me, let you love me long time

What would it take?
If we can up and runaway
We can throw our problems away
And get out of town
And how do you feel
I hope you know that I'm for real
I ain't playing games baby
I'm serious now

So baby let me love you, let me you long time
Baby let me love you, let me you long time
Baby let me love you, let me you long time
Baby let me love you, let me you long time

Boy I'll let you love me, let you love me long time
Boy I'll let you love me, let you love me long time
Boy I'll let you love me, let you love me long time
Boy I'll let you love me, let you love me long time

In the velvet lounge
Yeah
In the velvet lounge
In the velvet lounge

Let's put our love together
And come walk with me
Girl we are so perfect baby you and me
All I all I wanna do is spend little time
Your lovin' is so special
It keeps you on my mind
Something bout our lovin' girl
Is better forever
Nothing like no other
Let's keep this together
Me and you just feels like
Every day is still right
Baby keep it coming
And I love you long time

Boy I'll let you love me, let you love me long time
Boy I'll let you love me, let you love me long time
Boy I'll let you love me, let you love me long time
Boy I'll let you love me, let you love me in the velvet lounge
Yeah
In the velvet lounge
In the velvet lounge
In the velvet lounge
In the velvet lounge

General CommentI have to say that is seems like the continuation of a downfall for the Black Eyed Peas. This song obviously uses the chorus of "(I've Had)The Time of my life," a song about love and being at the peak of your life. Black Eyed Peas turned that tranquil meaning into just meaning less, I want to party attitude.

It exemplifies pop music of today with it's occasional use of low tone vocals, musical stutters (if you can call them musical), recycling of words from other pop songs. It's nothing new, but it lets the public know that the Peas have really knocked themselves off of the top-notch productions of their early 2000's material.

"A-All these girls they like my swagger
    They calling me Mc Jagger
I be rolling like a stone"

This line is the answer to one of Ke$ha's pop hits. I hope the Peas haven't sunk that low.

The song also uses references to popular apple products, also seen in Sean Kingston's "replay." Perhaps because it's popular and he can rhyme.

I think the only phrase used in this song that hasn't popularly been used before is:

    "Cause I'm having
    A good time with you"

Which shows that Peas are desperate to make another pop hit to play at parties, focusing on quantity, not quality, the downfall of popular music these days.

Song MeaningWhat does "dirty bit" mean here? The usual meaning[1] seems unlikely. Is the singer informing that "in case you were wondering why this beat is sounding so rough, it's because I've set the dirty bit in the sequencer"? Or what?

[1] a boolean flag indicating that a cache entry is out of date

General Commenti'm listening to the instrumental version of this song atm, may i say that the electrohouse bit is damn-azz catchy. ba da da ba da da da. this song is retribution of the Y nation i say, punishment for all young hipster sheep, who think electronica sucks... may the world of mainstream music revert to good old trance and techno hah!

Lyric CorrectionIts catchy but puttin it bluntly its ******* ****.

    Just one correction:

    'They calling me Mick Jagger
I be rollin like a stone'

As in Mick Jagger of the Rolling Stones :)
