I will forever be reminded
Of our struggled to survive
The betrayal that you conspired in
All that devotion thrown away
And with everything I confided
I should have known not to trust again
This insanity has divided
Left me with nothing left to destroy

I'm becoming so paranoid
Everyone is so paranoid
In a moment you will see my other side
When I'm confronted
My demeanor turns from Jekyll into Hyde

Hell has broken free tonight
No pale deception anymore
You awoke him, now he will feed
On the lies
He demands your sacrifice

I can barely control this feeling
Look at the murder in my eyes
I was never good at concealing
Violent thoughts have come to life
Horror will have a deeper meaning
You are the reason this began
Even now I can hear you screaming
There's only one thing left to destroy

And I'll no longer be paranoid
No more reason to be annoyed
In a moment you will see my other side
When I'm confronted
My demeanor turns from Jekyll into Hyde

Hell has broken free tonight
No pale deception anymore
You awoke him, now he will feed
On the lies
He demands your sacrifice

Hell has broken free tonight
No pale deception anymore
You awoke him, now he will feed
On the lies

Hell has broken free tonight
No pale reflection anymore
You awoke him, now he will feed
On the lies
He demands your sacrifice

    My Interpretation

seems like it could also be seen as someone you thought was a friend going and backstabbing you. it kinda describes the feeling I felt when someone did that

This song is not necessarily about being betrayed. It's about having two personalities.(But not necessarily bipolar.

Everyone has a "good" side and a "dark" side. The lyrics that make this the most obvious is:

In a moment you will see my other side

    When I'm confronted

My demeanor turns from Jekyl into Hyde

A book, "Dr.Jekyl and Mr.Hyde" is about having two split personalities.

Hell has broken free tonight, and the darker side demands your sacrifice.

While this is true, DeeBeeEmm, it's possible that that part of the song is complimenting how your attitude drastically changes toward whoever betrayed you.

Once someone betrays you, you label them as just that: a traitor. Your dark side is then shown to that person and they see just how "mean" or "evil" you can be.

"You awoke him, now he will feed On the lies"

Explains the betrayal. Basically, "you" caused this to happen. Now the darker side will feed on the lies to survive snd thrive, meaning everytime the narrator even thinks about being nice again, the Mr. Hyde part of him says "remember the lies. let me out."

No Doubt it's about being betrayed. Hard to say if it is by a lover, or maybe a good friend. But based on the rest of the album I would guess it has to do with his finace leaving him.

    Song Meaning

The song is about a betrayed survivor of the apocalypse who is friends with the horseman of death because in the lyrics it says, "No pale deception anymore". The horseman of death is known to have the appearance to have the body of a "pale" skeleton plus in the begginging of the song it says "our struggled to survive". Another reason why I say that he's the horseman of death besides the adjective "pale" is that one of Disturbes other songs "Old Friend" in the lyrics it says "Death is an old friend of mine".

    Song Meaning

this post is to all songs in the album Asylum....

all the lyrics in Asylum, even Draiman said so are metaphors to the holocaust... asylum = ghetto, never again (well duh), another way to die = a metaphor that we kill each other in many ways, the infection = the nazis (the infection must die), warrior = that we are now strong and nothing such as that can happen again to us (the jews), crucified = the scientific torture a nazi (Dr. Mangle) did, my child = it talks about Korczak that attempted to save all the orphan children, innocence = that humanity has left the innocent 'phase', the animal = the anger and pain we still hold onto can unfold itself quickly if you attempt to redo the nazi mistake, serpentine = we (the jews) thought everything was good and then suddenly the holocaust started, sacrifice = showing the other side of our mind thats says that we want a sacrifice from to world to show the sorriness and to promise nothing as such will ever happen...

yes im a jew that lives in Israel... and that was proof of the metaphors.. its all about never again and about the asylum...

The Night We Met
Lord Huron
This is a hauntingly beautiful song about introspection, specifically about looking back at a relationship that started bad and ended so poorly, that the narrator wants to go back to the very beginning and tell himself to not even travel down that road. I believe that the relationship started poorly because of the lines: "Take me back to the night we met:When the night was full of terrors: And your eyes were filled with tears: When you had not touched me yet" So, the first night was not a great start, but the narrator pursued the relationship and eventually both overcame the rough start to fall in love with each other: "I had all and then most of you" Like many relationships that turn sour, it was not a quick decline, but a gradual one where the narrator and their partner fall out of love and gradually grow apart "Some and now none of you" Losing someone who was once everything in your world, who you could confide in, tell your secrets to, share all the most intimate parts of your life, to being strangers with that person is probably one of the most painful experiences a person can go through. So Painful, the narrator wants to go back in time and tell himself to not even pursue the relationship. This was the perfect song for "13 Reasons Why"
