This song seemingly tackles the methods of deception those who manipulate others use to get victims to follow their demands, as well as diverting attention away from important issues. They'll also use it as a means to convince people to hate or kill others by pretending acts of terrorism were committed by the enemy when the acts themselves were done by the masters of control to promote discrimination and hate. It also reinforces the idea that these manipulative forces operate in various locations, infiltrating everyday life without detection, and propagate any and everywhere.
In general, it highlights the danger of hidden agendas, manipulation, and distraction, serving as a critique of those who exploit chaos and confusion to control and gain power, depicting a cautionary tale against falling into their traps. It encourages us to question the narratives presented to us and remain vigilant against manipulation in various parts of society.
If I could hug my love, could I try
For your wings to cover me and let them fold
Half alive, I heard the most brilliant lie
Sleepless eyes, close the light
And rest your mind while you burn
Can't stutter when you're talking with your eyes
By cutting out your tongue you save face
Feeding on the blood lets running from a black day
Cry on black rain, cry on black rain
Cry on black rain
If I could hug my love could I try
For your wings to cover me unless I fall
Sleepless eyes, close the light
And rest your mind while you burn
You can't stutter when you're talking with your eyes
By cutting out your tongue you save face
Feeding on the blood lets running from a black day
Cry on black rain, cry on black rain
Cry on cry on black rain
Black rain, cry on
Black rain, cry on
Cry on
You can't stutter when you're talking with your eyes
By cutting out your tongue you save face
Feeding on the blood that's running from a black day
For your wings to cover me and let them fold

Just A Little Lovin'

I don't think it's necessarily about sex. It's about wanting to start the day with some love and affection. Maybe a warm cuddle. I'm not alone in interpreting it that way! For example:
"'Just a Little Lovin’ is a timeless country song originally recorded by Eddy Arnold in 1954. The song, written by Eddie Miller and Jimmy Campbell, explores the delicate nuances of love and showcases Arnold’s emotive vocals. It delves into the universal theme of love and how even the smallest gesture of affection can have a profound impact on our lives." https://oldtimemusic.com/the-meaning-behind-the-song-just-a-little-lovin-by-eddy-arnold/

This is about loving a liar, someone who lies to keep the reputation, this is what "save face" means. And rest your mind while you burn is like finally forgeting that one. Burn could mean forgeting, destroying the image or just that person getting punished.
I dunno though, how could it relate to the soundgarden music video youtube.com/watch ? Could be a possible slap to religion saying the so called creators lie to us. It is tough to say on how I can connect the lyrics to that thought but It's easy to ponder on and connect with it yourself. Just a thought though since chris cornell did a lot of rage against machine stuff which slapped both religion and politics. Also in the music video the four dudes sitting in the chairs almost look like rulers of the universe and it also show a bunch of planets aligning... could they be connected all this with 2012, religion, and/or something else along those lines? who knows, Soundgarden put some really creative art into this which makes it none the less very admirable. It has similar groove as old soundgarden had but it's also has a bite of fresh newness to it.
the men in the chairs with the hoods are the members of soundgarden, the men playing on the flying red stage are the band Dethklok, created for the tv show metalocolypse, animated by the man who animated the music video.
