You're in for surprise, you're in for a shock
In London town streets when there's darkness and fog
I'm going down, all the way down
I'm on the highway to hell from here

Blessed by the night, holy and bright
Called by the toll of the bell
Oh Mr. Crowley did you talk to the dead
Sleep with the devil and then you must pay

Abandoned land come on in child take my hand
Hear a rising force
Watch the damned they're gonna break their chains
Through the night you can hear them

Twisting you mind and smashing your dreams
Blinded by me you can't see a thing
Torches blazed and sacred chants were praised
Blood on your face you big disgrace

A strand of silver hanging through the sky
Touching more than you can see
Appears like a wonder without any move
Gonna get close, closer to you

Abandoned land come on in child take my hand
Hear a rising force
Watch the damned they're gonna break their chains
Through the night you

All aboard,
Hahahahaha

Abandoned land come on in child take my hand
Hear a rising force
Watch the damned they're gonna break their chains
Through the night...

Abandoned land come on in child take my hand
Hear a rising force
Watch the damned they're gonna break their chains
Through the night you can hear them

    Lyric Correction

The lyrics are incorrect. It ought to be:

You're in for surprise, you're in for a shock, In London town streets where there's darkness and fog, (The Ripper, by Judas Priest) I'm going down, all the way down, I'm on a highway to hell from here! (Highway To Hell, by AC/DC) Blessed by the night, holy and bright, Called by the toll of the bell. (Neon Knights, by Black Sabbath) Oh, Mr. Crowley did you talk to the dead? (Mr. Crowley, by Ozzy Osbourne) Sleep with the devil, and then you must pay! (Gates Of Babylon, by Dio

    CHORUS:

In an abandoned land, Come on in child, take my hand! (Burn In Hell, by Twisted Sister) Hear a rising force. (Rising Force, by Ynwgie Malmsteen) Watch the damned, watch the damned, They're gonna break their chains! (Balls To The Wall, by Accept) Through the night, you can hear them. (Where Dragons Rule, by Crimson Glory)

Twisting your mind and smashing your dreams, Blinded by me you can't see a thing! (Master Of Puppets, by Metallica) Torches blazed, and sacred chants were praised, (The Number Of The Beast, by Iron Maiden) Blood on your face you big disgrace! (We Will Rock You, by Queen) A strand of silver hanging through the sky, Touching more than you can see. (Perfect Stranger, by Deep Purple) Appears like a wonder without any move, Gonna get close, closer to you! (Gate of Heaven, by Heaven's Gate)

    CHORUS

All aboard, ha ha ha ha ha ha! (Crazy Train, by Ozzy Osbourne)

Just like Metal Machine and Metal Crue this is a tribute to other great metal bands!

    Example

"Twisting your mind and smashing your dreams Blinded by me, you can't see a thing"

    Is Metallica's Master of Puppets

    And

"Torches blazed and sacred chants were phrased"

Is from Number of the beasts by Iron Maiden

"Blood on your face, you big disgrace"

That's from We Will Rock You - Queen.

    Doesn’t it say;

“An abandoned young lad, come on in child take my hand”

Just sounds like it to me and the song would make more sense too. Can’t see anyone else saying that though.

Standing On The Edge Of Summer
Thursday
In regards to the meaning of this song: Before a live performance on the EP Five Stories Falling, Geoff states “It’s about the last time I went to visit my grandmother in Columbus, and I saw that she was dying and it was the last time I was going to see her. It is about realizing how young you are, but how quickly you can go.” That’s the thing about Geoff and his sublime poetry, you think it’s about one thing, but really it’s about something entirely different. But the lyrics are still universal and omnipresent, ubiquitous, even. So relatable. That’s one thing I love about this band. I also love their live performances, raw energy and Geoff’s beautiful, imperfectly perfect vocals. His voice soothes my aching soul.

Mountain Song
Jane's Addiction
Jane's Addiction vocalist Perry Farrell gives Adam Reader some heartfelt insight into Jane’s Addiction's hard rock manifesto "Mountain Song", which was the second single from their revolutionary album Nothing's Shocking. Mountain song was first recorded in 1986 and appeared on the soundtrack to the film Dudes starring Jon Cryer. The version on Nothing's Shocking was re-recorded in 1988. "'Mountain Song' was actually about... I hate to say it but... drugs. Climbing this mountain and getting as high as you can, and then coming down that mountain," reveals Farrell. "What it feels to descend from the mountain top... not easy at all. The ascension is tough but exhilarating. Getting down is... it's a real bummer. Drugs is not for everybody obviously. For me, I wanted to experience the heights, and the lows come along with it." "There's a part - 'Cash in now honey, cash in Miss Smith.' Miss Smith is my Mother; our last name was Smith. Cashing in when she cashed in her life. So... she decided that, to her... at that time, she was desperate. Life wasn't worth it for her, that was her opinion. Some people think, never take your life, and some people find that their life isn't worth living. She was in love with my Dad, and my Dad was not faithful to her, and it broke her heart. She was very desperate and she did something that I know she regrets."

Page
Ed Sheeran
There aren’t many things that’ll hurt more than giving love a chance against your better judgement only to have your heart crushed yet again. Ed Sheeran tells such a story on “Page.” On this track, he is devastated to have lost his lover and even more saddened by the feeling that he may never move on from this.
