Well I was hoping to get a few clues about this song's meaning in what other people could have interpreted, but I see I'm the first one ! Pretty normal in a way, seeing as it is a French song not played abroad, and this is an English speaking website... But still if someone comes by, please express your opinion ! My first interpretation would be that the band are looking for a spokesperson, an agent, or a public face of some kind to do all the tedious formalities tied to fame : TV shows, interviews, paparazzi, fan frenzy ... Jail being only a metaphor for all that. But that's only deduced from the last verses, and I'm still not sure about the whole "police" and "war" thing. Maybe it's not showbiz but politics they're describing (with demonstrations and war), cause it's true they tend to merge nowadays. But as for the "bodies' count down" I am totally clueless. Though I would have spelt it "it's the body's countdown, the body counts down" as a singular. it seemed to make more sense and it sounds the same anyway ! My hypothesis would be something to do with modern obsession for healthy figures, skinny or muscular on the one hand, and growing obesity rates on the other, and that our bodies are about to revolt.. In what way is a mystery. I'd be happy to hear you take on these lyrics, please share !
