You make my teeth clench
And my hands shake
Do you ever see
what you do to me?
You're wearing me out
Just wearing me out
But I'm wearing you down

You're impossible to love or leave
So impossible to win or please
I'm wearing you out
Just wearing you out
But I'm wearing you down

Take what you want from me
It means nothing now
Take everything from me
It means nothing now
Not so easy to forgive
Harder to forget
Take what you want

I make your lips wet
And your moans quake
Try to think through
What I can do to you
It's wearing me thin
Can I begin
To wear you out?

Take what you want from me
It means nothing now
Take everything from me
It means nothing now
Not so easy to forgive
Harder to forget
Take what you want

I'm impossible
To figure out
So impossible
You had your doubts

Take what you want from me
It means nothing now
Take everything, honey
It means nothing now
Not so easy to forgive
Harder to forget
Take what you want from me
It means nothing now
Take everything, honey
It means nothing now
Not so easy to forgive
Harder to forget
Take what you want from me

Take what you want from me

From what i get from this song, I think it means plainly about two people who are in relationship, or maybe not even a relationship. mainly to say, they are just fustrated with each other "you're wearing me out, just wearing me out. but i'm wearing you out." and with all this fustration, they are unable to solve their problems, because both are "impossible" to deal with.

Great song that I can't stop playing :) This is what it means to me. He did something wrong to her and shes making it impossible to forgive or forget. He's saying to her "take what you want from me it means nothing now" as in he's tried so hard to "Try to think through What I can do to you."To make it up to her. Anyhow just my interpretation. Just an overall awesome song!!

    Song Meaning

OMG I cannot stop listening to this song is Re-donk-culous! I love this pop rock lyrics cuz they allow anyone to place their own backdrop to the message. In my case it relates so well to a relationship I had with my best friend. Over span of my life so far, we would get so close she would never take that last step! She profess her love to me but always went back to whatever douche bag she was dating and complaining to me at the time. This year it finally put too much stress on the friendship and we stop talking for both our well being. I could never figure out who I was to her and I dunno who she is to me at all. from all our history together to the bad expeirences we had in our lifes, made a relationship IMPOSSIBLE

"This song is about the give and take that every relationship counters. No romance actually ends in ‘and they live happily ever after’; it doesn’t mean that they end, It just means that there are going to be trials and tribulations in any healthy relationship." - Stephen Christian anberlinlyrics.tumblr.com June 2014

"You're impossible to love or leave" not "lovely

Also, it's "make my bones quake" not "moans"

Does anyone else think this song sounds pretty similar to "Said and Done"? By all means this song is great, but it kind of seems like Anberlin is drifting from the rock sound they used to have.

I'm not really worried about their sound changing ( because all bands change), but I'm worried about their lyrics. They've gotten a little weak and not as heart felt

well at least one comment on this song has to do w/ the actual meaning. I think it's pretty straight-forward actually. He thinks she is impossible to please no matter what he does or gives to her. And whatever she did he can neither forgive nor forget. He sarcastically says "take everything, it means nothing now" since she means nothing now. She is "impossible."

Gentle Hour
Yo La Tengo
This song was originally written by a guy called Peter Gutteridge. He was one of the founders of the "Dunedin Sound" a musical scene in the south of New Zealand in the early 80s. From there it was covered by "The Clean" one of the early bands of that scene (he had originally been a member of in it's early days, writing a couple of their best early songs). The Dunedin sound, and the Clean became popular on american college radio in the mid to late 80s. I guess Yo La Tengo heard that version. Great version of a great song,

I Can't Go To Sleep
Wu-Tang Clan
This song is written as the perspective of the boys in the street, as a whole, and what path they are going to choose as they get older and grow into men. (This is why the music video takes place in an orphanage.) The seen, and unseen collective suffering is imbedded in the boys’ mind, consciously or subconsciously, and is haunting them. Which path will the boys choose? Issac Hayes is the voice of reason, maybe God, the angel on his shoulder, or the voice of his forefathers from beyond the grave who can see the big picture and are pleading with the boys not to continue the violence and pattern of killing their brothers, but to rise above. The most beautiful song and has so many levels. Racism towards African Americans in America would not exist if everyone sat down and listened to this song and understood the history behind the words. The power, fear, pleading in RZA and Ghostface voices are genuine and powerful. Issac Hayes’ strong voice makes the perfect strong father figure, who is possibly from beyond the grave.

Amazing
Ed Sheeran
Ed Sheeran tells a story of unsuccessfully trying to feel “Amazing.” This track is about the being weighed down by emotional stress despite valiant attempts to find some positivity in the situation. This track was written by Ed Sheeran from the perspective of his friend. From the track, we see this person fall deeper into the negative thoughts and slide further down the path of mental torment with every lyric.

Page
Ed Sheeran
There aren’t many things that’ll hurt more than giving love a chance against your better judgement only to have your heart crushed yet again. Ed Sheeran tells such a story on “Page.” On this track, he is devastated to have lost his lover and even more saddened by the feeling that he may never move on from this.

Plastic Bag
Ed Sheeran
“Plastic Bag” is a song about searching for an escape from personal problems and hoping to find it in the lively atmosphere of a Saturday night party. Ed Sheeran tells the story of his friend and the myriad of troubles he is going through. Unable to find any solutions, this friend seeks a last resort in a party and the vanity that comes with it. “I overthink and have trouble sleepin’ / All purpose gone and don’t have a reason / And there’s no doctor to stop this bleedin’ / So I left home and jumped in the deep end,” Ed Sheeran sings in verse one. He continues by adding that this person is feeling the weight of having disappointed his father and doesn’t have any friends to rely on in this difficult moment. In the second verse, Ed sings about the role of grief in his friend’s plight and his dwindling faith in prayer. “Saturday night is givin’ me a reason to rely on the strobe lights / The lifeline of a promise in a shot glass, and I’ll take that / If you’re givin’ out love from a plastic bag,” Ed sings on the chorus, as his friend turns to new vices in hopes of feeling better.
