The Tin Man

I was first a lump in the ground,
You took me home pulled the oxygen out,
You rolled me into sheets,
And pretty soon I had tin feet,

Once my body was formed,
Of course then, I needed to perform,
So I needed to become awake,
So then came the engine and the tendency to break,

You said life was your gift to me,
But I disagree,
And I ponder when you’re not around,
I’m just made of metal,
There’s no heart to be found,

So I took my first steps in the world,
And on my first walk I met a carbon girl,
She said would I like to hold her hand,
But my father didn’t have this planned,

I didn’t know about that part of the world,
So I took apart the little girl,
I crushed her bones into a box,
And took her home to ask father what it was,
