Help Me I'm Hungry

In my opinion, this song is about being trapped in everyday life and knowing there's no escape from the petty way most people think. The narrator in the song knows that differences are shunned in modern society and he sees that and it makes him sick. Help him, he's hungry. He wants help... some sort of attention. But he's afraid to get it.<br /> <br /> Also, in my opinion, the line 'Write the fucking recipe' is "Like/Life's a fucking resume (as in the credential sheet you give to employers at interviews)" which will tie into my interpretation later.<br /> <br /> ---<br /> <br /> ""That's it"<br /> <br /> Until my tensions<br /> Feed me, I'm fucking hungry<br /> Degrade me<br /> I want my gun back"<br /> <br /> Whoever Kurt was writing for, I'll call him the narrator, is sick of being tense and deprived in life. He's hungry for some sort of recognition from anyone because he (the narrator) is isolated and afraid. He'd even take negative attention.<br /> <br /> ---<br /> <br /> "Like/Life's a fucking resume<br /> Experience credentials<br /> Experience the process<br /> People freaking every day<br /> White lights<br /> Sitting inside<br /> And you get sicker then you get a little better<br /> Then a <br /> <br /> Blasphemy"<br /> <br /> Life's an experience, he's got his credentials... he's experienced the process and quite frankly, he's sick of it. He can relate to the people that lose it and freak out in whatever situation from stress or what have you. He knows that if he does become one of the 'people freaking everyday', he'll be put away in some sort of insane asylum as described by the 'white lights' and 'sitting inside'. The next line is saying that his theoretical time in the asylum wouldn't help him, that kind of thinking is 'blasphemy'.<br /> <br /> ---<br /> <br /> "Hold me, I'm so pathetic<br /> And study, all the sudden<br /> Baby, suddenly find her<br /> Daddy, exploring only"<br /> <br /> This goes back to the yearning for attention even if it's negative. No idea what the baby or daddy lines mean to the song.<br /> <br /> ---<br /> <br /> CHORUS<br /> <br /> ---<br /> <br /> "Hold me<br /> Until my tensions degrade me<br /> I'm fucking hungry<br /> Feed me, the wells of comfort<br /> Exume me<br /> I want my complex back"<br /> <br /> He feels more trapped than ever. He's fucking hungry. He wants someone to care. He wants to be normal like everyone else and judge and chastise differences without a second thought. He wants, what I assume is, a god complex back so he can act superior to everyone else and be ignorant to the woes of life everyone seems to ignore.<br /> <br /> ---<br /> <br /> "A wicked man<br /> Picked off the scabs and fed them<br /> To the pigeons<br /> Help him, he is so cornered<br /> Kill him, your mercy whore will"<br /> <br /> This is pretty self-explanatory. The world judged this man and held him in contempt for being different. They helped him and killed him but it was alright because they were superior and were able to decide the right fate for him. They played God for the wicked man. By acting superior, they give their existence meaning and it makes them happy.<br /> <br /> ---<br /> <br /> CHORUS<br /> <br /> ---<br /> <br /> "Help me, fucking hoses<br /> Help me, until my tensions<br /> Praise me, I'm really hungry<br /> Degrade me, I want my complex back"<br /> <br /> This is repeating previous themes. He's still isolated. He wants any sort of attention. He wants the complex back so he can live happily like everyone else.<br /> <br /> Of course, this is all my opinion.
