Don't wanna sound ridiculous
but i think you know i'm sick of this
and i kinda think that we can bend, do you?
i'll try to be a better friend to you

you know i miss ya in my life
and i kinda think that i realize
that i was only lookin out for me
instead of gettin you the help you need

who do you think you are?
who do i think i am?
barely listening to my oldest friend

i've given one, you've taken two
but this medicine has followed you
from the eastern coast and back again
so i tell you once but not again

that i only miss you in my life
and i hope you finally realize
that i'm only looking out for you
when i'm not afraid to see this through

My InterpretationThe song is probably about a friend (obviously) who was suffering but he hadn't seen anything was wrong, something happened and he feels guilty. They break apart in a way, and then he misses her/him. It's an amazing song :)

My OpinionThis song is about a person looking for a second chance, with a friendship that he gave up on, but is wanting to mend it all.
"I kinda think that we can bend, do you? " - He believes that they can not be broken, and asks the "friend" if he feels the same way or not.
"I kinda realise that i was only looking out for me, instead of getting you the help that you need. "- Maybe at some point, he realises how selfish he had become, that he decided ruin the friendship instead of getting the friend the help that he needed. I've had personal experience with these lines.

This song means a lot to me because I can relate the story of me and an old friend of mine. I gave up on the friendship, knowing that it would affect both of us. I regret every bit of it.
