i'm fighting sleep right now
don't matter why or how
i walked, through the
thickness
of your heart
straight through the middle of
your deepest darkest
dream
i wrote the melody
that brought you back to life love
come hear it for
yourself
oh my love, come hear it for yourself
oh my love
who says we're
wrong for
opening the wrong doors
lock up swallow the key
you'll never
replace me
cause we've all fallen for
someone we're wrong for
lock up
swallow the key
you'll never replace me
i played it safe and still
you
changed your shape until
your weakling anti-bodies
could stand up for
themselves
outside your window sill
i fell like jack for jill
and you came
tumbling after
so stand up for yourself
oh my love
stand up for myself
oh
my love, lest you forget
i'll write this down you're blaming all this on
yourself
but the photograph that's on
your shelf
is of a younger, dumber,
version
of myself
but anyway
cause back then i told you
if you fall i'll
fall too
lock up swallow the key
you'll never replace me

    Song Meaning

My interpretation is that "I'm fighting sleep right now" is presumably about deep thoughts not allowing him to sleep. "I walked through the thickness of your heart... I wrote the melody that brought you back to life, love" means that he was in a relationship with a girl who had been badly hurt before and his love brought her back to life and healed her wounds. "Who says we're wrong for opening the wrong doors?" Is a rhetorical question that he doesn't want answering, it's all part of the experience. "Lock up - swallow the key, you'll never replace me" this rhyme shows that he thinks that she's made a big mistake by ending their relationship and she won't ever replace their relationship. The line "We've all fallen for someone we're wrong for" shows that he accepts they were not right for each other and wants to move on. Her "weakling anti-bodies" were previously unable to stand up for herself up until this relationship, which ties into him bringing her "back to life". "I fell like Jack for Jill and you came tumbling after" - he fell for her quickly but she took her time to fall for him much more carefully. She's careful and she stands "up for herself". The next bit is a little ambiguous as it's a little bit muddled, that they both blame themselves "You're blaming all this on yourself BUT the photograph that's on your shelf is a younger, dumber version of myself". This shows that they've been in a long term relationship and that the split is mutual, not just her fault. "Back then I told you if you fall I'll fall too" - they loved each other but "lock up swallow the key, you'll never replace me". Meaning that she can get a better relationship than this, perhaps because she left him for something more that he doesn't believe is possible.

Beautiful song and I did my best with this interpretation!

This song seemingly tackles the methods of deception those who manipulate others use to get victims to follow their demands, as well as diverting attention away from important issues. They'll also use it as a means to convince people to hate or kill others by pretending acts of terrorism were committed by the enemy when the acts themselves were done by the masters of control to promote discrimination and hate. It also reinforces the idea that these manipulative forces operate in various locations, infiltrating everyday life without detection, and propagate any and everywhere. In general, it highlights the danger of hidden agendas, manipulation, and distraction, serving as a critique of those who exploit chaos and confusion to control and gain power, depicting a cautionary tale against falling into their traps. It encourages us to question the narratives presented to us and remain vigilant against manipulation in various parts of society.

Holiday
Bee Gees
@[Diderik:33655] "Your a holiday!" Was a popular term used in the 50s/60s to compliment someone on their all around. For example, not only are they beautiful, but they are fun and kind too ... just an all around "holiday". I think your first comment is closer to being accurate. The singer/song writers state "Millions of eyes can see, yet why am i so blind!? When the someone else is me, its unkind its unkind". I believe hes referring to the girl toying with him and using him. He wants something deeper with her, thats why he allows himself to be as a puppet (even though for her fun and games) as long as it makes her happy. But he knows deep down that she doesnt really want to be serious with him and thats what makes him.

Page

There aren’t many things that’ll hurt more than giving love a chance against your better judgement only to have your heart crushed yet again. Ed Sheeran tells such a story on “Page.” On this track, he is devastated to have lost his lover and even more saddened by the feeling that he may never move on from this.
