General Commentgreat piece of music from the brilliant album "Up The Downstair". I much prefer the original version of UTD over the 2004 remix with Gavins drums.

the song before Burning Sky, Small Fish, ends with the lyrics:

"The last thing that I saw as, my life passed by
Were fields of empty people, laying down to die
The rain lashed down in darkness
    A lizard blinked an eye
And time stopped in the silence
    To watch the burning sky"

Obviously about death and those last seconds of realizing what is happening. Then, the 11 minute "Burning Sky" takes you on a ride...more of a trip really!

    General CommentThat is epic.

But I've always associated it with the Apocalyps: 'Burning sky': Fire in het sky from building that burn down, the whole world being on fire.
Which, to me, makes the ticking clock say: It's just a matter of time before it happens.
I like the Spiral Circus-version better because the guitars are louder and the atmosphere is way intenser.
