In regards to the meaning of this song:
Before a live performance on the EP Five Stories Falling, Geoff states “It’s about the last time I went to visit my grandmother in Columbus, and I saw that she was dying and it was the last time I was going to see her. It is about realizing how young you are, but how quickly you can go.”
That’s the thing about Geoff and his sublime poetry, you think it’s about one thing, but really it’s about something entirely different. But the lyrics are still universal and omnipresent, ubiquitous, even. So relatable. That’s one thing I love about this band. I also love their live performances, raw energy and Geoff’s beautiful, imperfectly perfect vocals. His voice soothes my aching soul.
What if you are an island of sorrow
Then I'll be the raging sea
What if you are the reaching trees
Then I'll be the storm that with fire rages
The new loneliness
Your name on the door
Just like a diagnose
For venomous disease
Man is the cemetery for unlived life
All for naught
The grand accusation
Your face is your name
Word and shield
Sharp as a curse
Man is the cemetery for unlived life
All for naught
The grand accusation
You chose rejection
Over thoughts of insight
You take action
From focus on intent
And brace for impact
Not waiting for the fall
What cries here, cries inside
Man is the cemetery of unlived life
The grand accusation
What if you were a country of grief
With me the invading force
What if you were to measure the hollow
That captivates and devours you
The new loneliness
Your name on the door
Just like a diagnose
For venomous disease
Man is the cemetery for unlived life
All for naught
Then I'll be the raging sea
What if you are the reaching trees
Then I'll be the storm that with fire rages
The new loneliness
Your name on the door
Just like a diagnose
For venomous disease
Man is the cemetery for unlived life
All for naught
The grand accusation
Your face is your name
Word and shield
Sharp as a curse
Man is the cemetery for unlived life
All for naught
The grand accusation
You chose rejection
Over thoughts of insight
You take action
From focus on intent
And brace for impact
Not waiting for the fall
What cries here, cries inside
Man is the cemetery of unlived life
The grand accusation
What if you were a country of grief
With me the invading force
What if you were to measure the hollow
That captivates and devours you
The new loneliness
Your name on the door
Just like a diagnose
For venomous disease
Man is the cemetery for unlived life
All for naught

Ed Sheeran shares a short story of reconnecting with an old flame on “American Town.” The track is about a holiday Ed Sheeran spends with his countrywoman who resides in America. The two are back together after a long period apart, and get around to enjoying a bunch of fun activities while rekindling the flames of their romance.
Mikael Stanne:
"A song about a life, in which you couldn't reach the pinnacle of your potential. To me, it's the most dreadful feeling, you could ever feel at all. You've missed a lot of opportunities, you haven't tried everything you could as a human - here's the grandest accusation that could be made against you."

Something about opposing an inaction with action, "Man is the cemetery of plundered life" - probably means that life can be much more interesting if only people would act more and have higher dreams to achieve. Just my guess :)
I wrote an extended essay on this album, available here:

Ironclad is, I think, on the right path. The line is actually "Man is the cemetery for un-lived life". On its own, it is a condemnation (or accusation, if you will) of those who fail to live life. In the grand scheme of the album, it is probably about those who surrender to the inevitability of their own deaths. More on why in the essay above.
