[Verse 1]
You're three sides of my eight-sided circle
Two lovers juxtaposed with doorways
Broken window frames color her eyes in with black lines
Let it all run down
Let it all run down

[Chorus 1]
It's one way to opt for a horizon
'Cause in my opinion
It's one way to say we're abandoned
And we don't belong here at all

[Verse 2]
There's no explanation or forewarning
Underneath all the crimson linings
We approach the streets with a clear conscience, we'll survive
Let it all fall down
Let it all fall down

[Chorus 2]
It's one way to opt for a horizon
And not to mention
It's one way to say we're abandoned
And we don't belong here at all
And romance just is...

[Bridge]
Slow it all down, the damage is done
Play the music loud, don't make a sound
Let's raise a toast to a sad story
In a dirty cup, in a dirty cup
You made it, you made it hurt so bad
You made it hurt so bad

[Outro]
With a little poison
We can burn this whole place down to the ground again

I think the meaning of this song is fairly obvious. It's about a relationship that fell apart without her realizing it would come to an end.

They were her everything but she couldn't see any notion that it would end underneath all of the "silver linings."

She goes on to say that the Romance just is. Nothing more. It's just there and it doesn't belong. She feels heartbroken and implies that it was the other person's fault.

I love the line "With a little poison we can burn this whole place down to the ground again." To me it means that small things can ruin even the best laid plans.

The meaning was pretty easy but there it is if anyone, for whatever reason, was lost.

This needs to be updated for the newly released version on the Acoustic EP.

"It's one way to abhor a horizon" This is supposed to be: "It's one way to opt for a horizon" And "silver linings" is "crimson linings"

Standing On The Edge Of Summer

In regards to the meaning of this song: Before a live performance on the EP Five Stories Falling, Geoff states “It’s about the last time I went to visit my grandmother in Columbus, and I saw that she was dying and it was the last time I was going to see her. It is about realizing how young you are, but how quickly you can go.” That’s the thing about Geoff and his sublime poetry, you think it’s about one thing, but really it’s about something entirely different. But the lyrics are still universal and omnipresent, ubiquitous, even. So relatable. That’s one thing I love about this band. I also love their live performances, raw energy and Geoff’s beautiful, imperfectly perfect vocals. His voice soothes my aching soul.

The Night We Met
Lord Huron
This is a hauntingly beautiful song about introspection, specifically about looking back at a relationship that started bad and ended so poorly, that the narrator wants to go back to the very beginning and tell himself to not even travel down that road. I believe that the relationship started poorly because of the lines: "Take me back to the night we met:When the night was full of terrors: And your eyes were filled with tears: When you had not touched me yet" So, the first night was not a great start, but the narrator pursued the relationship and eventually both overcame the rough start to fall in love with each other: "I had all and then most of you" Like many relationships that turn sour, it was not a quick decline, but a gradual one where the narrator and their partner fall out of love and gradually grow apart "Some and now none of you" Losing someone who was once everything in your world, who you could confide in, tell your secrets to, share all the most intimate parts of your life, to being strangers with that person is probably one of the most painful experiences a person can go through. So Painful, the narrator wants to go back in time and tell himself to not even pursue the relationship. This was the perfect song for "13 Reasons Why"

Cajun Girl
Little Feat
Overall about difficult moments of disappointment and vulnerability. Having hope and longing, while remaining optimistic for the future. Encourages the belief that with each new morning there is a chance for things to improve. The chorus offers a glimmer of optimism and a chance at a resolution and redemption in the future. Captures the rollercoaster of emotions of feeling lost while loving someone who is not there for you, feeling let down and abandoned while waiting for a lover. Lost with no direction, "Now I'm up in the air with the rain in my hair, Nowhere to go, I can go anywhere" The bridge shows signs of longing and a plea for companionship. The Lyrics express a desire for authentic connection and the importance of Loving someone just as they are. "Just in passing, I'm not asking. That you be anyone but you”

Magical
Ed Sheeran
How would you describe the feeling of being in love? For Ed Sheeran, the word is “Magical.” in HIS three-minute album opener, he makes an attempt to capture the beauty and delicacy of true love with words. He describes the magic of it all over a bright Pop song produced by Aaron Dessner.
