Inside These Lines Lyrics

Whose the one I see?
Across the table,
Eyes that always seem, so familiar
We sit alone so comfortably in silence
If I touch you would you be surprise?
Did we drift out closer to a compromise?
Ohhhhhhhhhh
Have we lost what we had?
Inside these lines inside these lines
Could watch and stay the same
All this time and just be fine
It’s ok to see where we are and where we should be
Are we gonna find ourselves
Inside these lines inside these lines
Insides these lines
Your skin is next to mine
I can feel you
I learnt to pass the time in the same room
So remind me who the world stood still
We were shining living just to taste the thrill
Ohhhhhhhhhh
Have we lost what we had?
Inside these lines inside these lines
Could watch and stay the same
All this time and just be fine
It’s ok to see where we are and where we should be
Are we gonna find ourselves
Inside these lines inside these lines
Oh oh oh
Circle render me yeah (unsure)
with the lines we’ve drawn I believe that
Circle render me yeah (unsure)
with the lines we’ve drawn I believe that
Have we lost what we had?
Inside these lines inside these lines
Could watch and stay the same
All this time and just be fine
It’s ok to see where we are and where we should be
Are we gonna find ourselves
Inside these lines inside these lines
Are we gonna find ourselves?
Are we gonna find ourselves?
Inside these lines inside these lines

i find this song to be about two people that were in a past relationship when he says..

"Whose the one I see, Across the table, Eyes that always seem, so familiar"

to me it sounds that hes saying that its a person that comes in goes in his life when he says,"eyes that always seem, so familiar". and when he talks about a compromise i feel he is talking about if they have both realized the feelings they still have for one another.and all through the chores he speaks about if they could stay the same..meaning that he really still has strong feelings for her and he wants to be together and maybe she doesnt..and so on..its a sad and desperate song with a feeling of heart felt love and no being able to capture it or atleast have the other one feel the same..to me..its a song of my life..

I love this song but I think there are a couple of mistakes in your lyrics. Here's what I hear: Who's the one I see across the table? Eyes that always seem, so familiar We sit alone so comfortably in the silence If I touch you would you be surprised? Did we drift out closer to a compromise?

This one is easy. It's about a divorce clearly. I think I heard him say that once in an interview. And the music video seems to back it up. It can just is easily be about a fading love.
