This goes out to all the rude girls on the dance floor,
It's your boy, Sean Kingston, y'all already know.
What a gwan!

The way that you move make me fall in love, ooha, ooha, ooha
Your sexy brown eyes, I can't get enough,
Oh girl you got me thinking 'bout da island ways,
The palm trees,
I'm kissing underneath da moon,
Oh baby girl you need some water,
Your body's getting hotter,
The sweat drippin' off of you.

Now break it down slow,
Where I'm from, girl, is how we do.
Now give me some more,
You got da whole club watching you.
You got me saying,
You dr-dr-drop it like an island girl,
You p-p-pop it like an island girl,
You g-g-got it like them island girls.
I don't know where you from but you dancing to the drums.
Like a island queen, your dancing like a island queen.
Oh, your such a pretty pretty little thing,
Tonight your my island queen.

Girl your royalty but what you doing here without your king,
I don't know, I don't know,
If it was up to me you'd be wearing my diamond ring.
Come home with me,
Take you over seas,
'Cause you move like that's where you belong.
Get your rest by the water,
Our body's getting hotter,
We be drumming to the early morn'

Now break it down slow,
Where I'm from, girl, is how we do.
Now give me some more,
You got da whole club watching you.
You got me saying,
You dr-dr-drop it like an island girl,
You p-p-pop it like an island girl,
You g-g-got it like them island girls.
I don't know where you from but you dancing to the drums.
Like a island queen, your dancing like a island queen.
Oh, your such a pretty pretty little thing,
Tonight your my island queen.

If your dancing with your queen,
Fellas, let me hear you sing, oh, oh
If your dancing with your king,
Ladies, let me hear your sing, oh, oh,
You take me to another place,
Where I'll watch you move your waist.

Oh girl I'm falling in love,
I don't know where your from,
But when you dance to the drums,
The whole club is watching you.
You got me saying,
You dr-dr-drop it like an island girl,
You p-p-pop it like an island girl,
You g-g-got it like them island girls.
I don't know where you from but you dancing to the drums.
Like an island queen, your dancing like an island queen.
Oh, your such a pretty pretty little thing,
Tonight your my island queen.

Ooha, oh oh oh oh oh oh oh oh oh my I, my island queen,
Oh oh oh oh oh oh oh oh oh my I, my island queen.

Ya!
This song was dedicated to all my island girls,
And if your not from the islands,
Come see me.
I'll put in a little island in ya.

Light Up The Sky
Van Halen
The song lyrics were written by the band Van Halen, as they were asked to write a song for the 1979 movie "Over the Edge" starring Matt Dillon. The movie (and the lyrics, although more obliquely) are about bored, rebellious youth with nothing better to do than get into trouble. If you see the movie, these lyrics will make more sense. It's a great movie if you grew up in the 70s/80s you'll definitely remember some of these characters from your own life. Fun fact, after writing the song, Van Halen decided not to let the movie use it.

Standing On The Edge Of Summer
Thursday
In regards to the meaning of this song: Before a live performance on the EP Five Stories Falling, Geoff states “It’s about the last time I went to visit my grandmother in Columbus, and I saw that she was dying and it was the last time I was going to see her. It is about realizing how young you are, but how quickly you can go.” That’s the thing about Geoff and his sublime poetry, you think it’s about one thing, but really it’s about something entirely different. But the lyrics are still universal and omnipresent, ubiquitous, even. So relatable. That’s one thing I love about this band. I also love their live performances, raw energy and Geoff’s beautiful, imperfectly perfect vocals. His voice soothes my aching soul.

Silent Planet
I think much like another song “Anti-Matter” (that's also on the same album as this song), this one is also is inspired by a horrifying van crash the band experienced on Nov 3, 2022. This, much like the other track, sounds like it's an extension what they shared while huddled in the wreckage, as they helped frontman Garrett Russell stem the bleeding from his head wound while he was under the temporary effects of a concussion. The track speaks of where the mind goes at the most desperate & desolate of times, when it just about slips away to all but disconnect itself, and the aftermath.

American Town
Ed Sheeran
Ed Sheeran shares a short story of reconnecting with an old flame on “American Town.” The track is about a holiday Ed Sheeran spends with his countrywoman who resides in America. The two are back together after a long period apart, and get around to enjoying a bunch of fun activities while rekindling the flames of their romance.

Page
Ed Sheeran
There aren’t many things that’ll hurt more than giving love a chance against your better judgement only to have your heart crushed yet again. Ed Sheeran tells such a story on “Page.” On this track, he is devastated to have lost his lover and even more saddened by the feeling that he may never move on from this.
