she is thinking about what has happened in her life before she goes to sleep. She has found God again. She realizes that he has and will always be there with her. He was always loved her and will continue too.

This song is about finding freedom ("learn to fly") in God. The lyrics say that it's "not alright to feel like you're falling into nothing", but in God, there is always something to feel. And and at this moment, a feeling of surrender. It's about knowing that everything on earth is bad, but we can escape it when we call the name of Jesus! Great song, He is We!

does anyone know where i can get this song? i dont think it's on their new cd that's coming out, and it's not on old demos

Honestly this song was a lot like me just a few years ago. My best friend was very (and still is) into God and I wasn't and wanted to be but whenever I went to a church they rejected me because if my birthday 6/16/96.. ends with all 6's so I had no faith at all. I felt completely alone until I found him. I knew that there had to be something but I didn't think I could have him because I was always rejected, so as the song says "Thought I’d suck it up and do it all on my own, Wish I'd known He does care." Honestly God scared me. The chorus for me means that without him your going to fall into nothing, but with him you will fly because he will lift you up, you just need to call his name.

Don't have your pride with him, just give it all up for him, he is there and will be no matter what.

This song is about wanting to find comfort in god and hear from him, but accepting that god truly wont reply because hes not there. This song is about the pain in having to accept that there is no god.

I thought i should break it down since i have such a different view on this than most people, which to me makes more sense than other peoples. I think my new view on this would be that she has lost faith in the existence of god but in a way wants to find comfort in the idea of him anyways.

"A silhouette it taunts me." The shadow/idea of god is there but thats all.

"My lack of faith.. I should be afraid" Shes lost faith and knows she should be afraid because god isnt helping.

"its not alright to feel like your falling into nothing" Its not okay with her that theres no afterlife(fall into nothing).

"You can learn to fly Just call his name." Just/all you can do is call his name. The only way she is gonna find that comfort is to call out and hope hes there.

Wants comfort but is ashamed that she has to be so desperate(CRY out to him on her knees). Shes begging for god/comfort to show itself. "Change us on the inside" Help the horrible feeling shes been feeling inside.

"Suddenly I wonder why I feel so alone" After calling his name nothing happens, so she feels alone.

"I know theres something out there" (This is an agnostic view) Shes reassuring herself that theres something out there to find that comfort, even though its not showing as to be so.

"Thought id suck it up and do it all on my own, wish id known he does care" This gives it away. Shes decided shes gonna have to suck it up and live without him, but she wishes she knew that god cares."
