If you stepped sat back
And realized
I'm sure that you'll see
That these words
That were spoken eventually
Will dwell in my conscience
Til my dying day
Oh what can I say
To change your perception
Want me by your side
The fact that you've moved on
Makes me wanna cry
If you open your door
I'll be there with arms wide
Just begging and praying
For one more goodbye

So I'll wait for you
Even though you don't want me to

Because I'm not over you
I promise
This word they call love
Come push or to shove
I meant it and now I'm in tears
My love
Oh my love

I keep telling myself that
It's not what it seems
And wish that you wouldn't keep
Haunting my dreams
I'll shoot out of bed
And wake up in a sweat
How could I forget
I imagined the worst when
You were on the phone
As you sat there
And told me
That you were alone
I could see him
I know how he makes you behave
That this wasn't the girl that I kissed on our date

But I'll wait for you
Even though you don't want me to

Because I'm not over you
I promise
This word they call love
Come push or to shove
I meant it and now I'm in tears
Because I'm not over you
I promise
You wont see this face
Show up at your place
Although I'm in town
I'll stay here
My love
Oh, my love
My love
Oh, my love

And I should know better
Give up while I can
And prove to the world
That I'll be my own man
You broke me
And took me along for the ride
And this pain that you've left me
Should make me subside

But I'm not over you
(I'm not over you
I'm not over you
I'm not over you)
I promise.
This word they call love
Come push or to shove
(I wished I could to anything to get you back)
I meant it and now I'm in tears
Because I'm not over you
(cause I'm over you)
I promise
You wont see this face
Show up at your place
(don't let me go)
Although I'm in town
I'll stay here

Cause I'm not over you
I promise.
This word they call love
Come push or to shove
I meant it and now I'm in tears
My love

    My Interpretation

He didn't understand the meaning of love, didn't understand the sacrifices involved and the risks he was sure to face. He committed before waiting to find out if she felt the same way. She left him for someone else and he doesn't get how he feels this much pain while she feels nothing.
This word they call love Come push or to shove I meant it and now I'm in tears. He wants to work things out but knows that she is done with him. He keeps denying it but eventually realizes that he needs to move on, or at least pretend to.

Fast Car
Tracy Chapman
"Fast car" is kind of a continuation of Bruce Springsteen's "Born to Run." It has all the clawing your way to a better life, but in this case the protagonist never makes it with her love; in fact she is dragged back down by him. There is still an amazing amount of hope and will in the lyrics; and the lyrics themselve rank and easy five. If only music was stronger it would be one of those great radio songs that you hear once a week 20 years after it was released. The imagery is almost tear-jerking ("City lights lay out before us", "Speeds so fast felt like I was drunk"), and the idea of starting from nothing and just driving and working and denigrating yourself for a chance at being just above poverty, then losing in the end is just painful and inspiring at the same time.

Page
Ed Sheeran
There aren’t many things that’ll hurt more than giving love a chance against your better judgement only to have your heart crushed yet again. Ed Sheeran tells such a story on “Page.” On this track, he is devastated to have lost his lover and even more saddened by the feeling that he may never move on from this.
