Have you ever been to Heaven at night, night?
Have you ever been to Heaven at night?

Heaven at night
Have you ever been to Heaven at night?
Closing your eyes the feeling so right
At first you might see this one bright beam of light
Clutching your soul to the toll of the bright
Happy unites and feelings take flight
Blinds of the evils you give them no sight
Focus on floating, your focus is tight
Like you re-wrote an essay for a class
You pass in the night
Have you ever seen an image so nice?
You feel so free like you're high as a kite
Like how you feel if you drink some Bud Light
Followed by Jag
Models will smile then tilt their heads back
These are a few of the visions I like
Mixed in with light
These are my favorites to dream in the night
This is my Heaven at night

Have you (have you)
Ever been to Heaven at night? (Ever been to Heaven at night?)
Heaven at night (Heaven at night)
Oh, have you (have you)
Ever been to Heaven at night? (Ever been to Heaven at night?)
Heaven at night (Heaven at night)

Man, oh (man)
I need what the world can't give me (can't give me)
Can't give me
Man, oh (man)
I see what the world can't show me (can't show me)
Can't show me
Dawg, oh (dawg)
I like what the world can't give me (can't give me)
Can't give me
Dawg, oh (dawg)
I sing it but the world can't hear me (can't hear me)
Can't hear me (can't hear me)

(Heaven at night)
(Heaven at night)

Have you (have you)
Ever been to Heaven at night? (Ever been to Heaven at night?)
Heaven at night (Heaven at night)
Oh, have you (have you)
Ever been to Heaven at night? (Ever been to Heaven at night?)
Heaven at night (Heaven at night)

    Song Meaning

Heaven at nite is perhaps Kid Cudi's most revealing song yet. Kid Cudi wasn't inspired by his dreams nor partying. He's talking about meditation while under the influence of weed. He specifically mentions several key signals of meditation such as the bright light, the feel of floating, and force of suction that literally feels like something is tugging on your soul. In Kid Cudi's interview with Karmaloop he sheds light on his experience with weed while he was living in a small room with no source of light besides the moon. He would smoke weed and meditate. Many of his songs hints his experiences of meditation. Hence the title Heaven at Nite. Many people who meditate experience out of body experience in which they feel like they spiritually enter heaven. I personnally have experienced this before discovering Kid Cudi and all of his music scream of the same experiences. I highly recommend you to try it. You wouldn't dare challenge this theory once you have. Feel free to contact me should you like to know more. Www.veritasluxmea.weebly.com.

in the song cudi is basically talkin about his dreams. and he saying that his dreams are his heaven at nite. anyone who listens to cudi knows that his music is inspired by his dreams. so it just saying this is wht i picture at nite. then he asks the audience have u seen heaven at nite. basically playing on words wht ur heaven at night. it reallly brillaint for such a young rapper

It's easy to understand it's basically saying no matter how bad life is you can still go to sleep and go to "Heaven at Night".

although i appreciate the people who take time to upload lyrics on this site, you have quite a few mistakes After "crutching your soul" it goes "TO THE TOLL OF THE BLIGHT".
ALso, it's happy "UNITES", not "unights". It's not "Like you be road ass you safe for a class" it is "like you RE-WROTE AS you safe for a class" (which I think he's referring to when you copy or plagiarize someones writing but you re-write it so ur safe for a class cause your teacher won't know) It's not "followed by jag", its "followed by YAY" (as in cocaine) It's not "God Oh, I like what the world can't give me (cant give me)", it's "DOUBT Oh, I LACK what the world can't give me (can't give me)", also it's "DOUBT" instead of "GOD" the second time as well Please correct!!! Thanks

i think this also has a theme of experiencing some of his greatest highs while out partying. and that he is chasing these universal truths in the ecstasy of partying but isnt quite getting what he wants and feels like theres no other way to get it "i lack what the world cant give me"... anyway

a large portion of his heaven is associated with the heaven of drunken joy: You feel so free like you're high as a kite Like how you feel if you drink some bud light Followed by Jag Models will smile then tilt their head back These are a few of the visions I like

    My Opinion

Cudi Zone is also another song which he talks about meditation. The sound in his mind is the sound one would hear during a relaxed meditation. I highly recommend you check that out too.

Fast Car
Tracy Chapman
"Fast car" is kind of a continuation of Bruce Springsteen's "Born to Run." It has all the clawing your way to a better life, but in this case the protagonist never makes it with her love; in fact she is dragged back down by him. There is still an amazing amount of hope and will in the lyrics; and the lyrics themselve rank and easy five. If only music was stronger it would be one of those great radio songs that you hear once a week 20 years after it was released. The imagery is almost tear-jerking ("City lights lay out before us", "Speeds so fast felt like I was drunk"), and the idea of starting from nothing and just driving and working and denigrating yourself for a chance at being just above poverty, then losing in the end is just painful and inspiring at the same time.

Holiday
Bee Gees
@[Diderik:33655] "Your a holiday!" Was a popular term used in the 50s/60s to compliment someone on their all around. For example, not only are they beautiful, but they are fun and kind too ... just an all around "holiday". I think your first comment is closer to being accurate. The singer/song writers state "Millions of eyes can see, yet why am i so blind!? When the someone else is me, its unkind its unkind". I believe hes referring to the girl toying with him and using him. He wants something deeper with her, thats why he allows himself to be as a puppet (even though for her fun and games) as long as it makes her happy. But he knows deep down that she doesnt really want to be serious with him and thats what makes him.
