Baby I told you once before it's not what you think
I drink you in with a sip but I really want a chug
You know I take what I can get gimme a dub, now
Anytime we get together get the feeling like I could
Baby I told you once before it's not what you think
I drink you in with a sip but I really want a chug
You know I take what I can get gimme a dub
Anytime we get together get the feeling like I could
Whoa, are you with me?
Whoa, is that the best you can give me?
Whoa, are you with me?
Baby I told you once before it's not what you think
I drink you in with a sip but I really want a chug
You know I take what I can get gimme a dub, now
Stamping your foot and trying to be the boss
I'm hanging on every word because the way that you think
Yes, every misstep, well it lead me to you
I'll do what I gotta do to see it through
Won't have to wait to far with that one we'll never miss
Whoa, are you with me?
Whoa, is that the best you can give me?
Whoa, are you with me?
I admit it
A big swing and a miss so I'll keep my distance back in it
In a minute
Whoa, are you with me?
Whoa, is that the best you can give me?
Whoa, are you with me?
Whoa, are you with me?
(I write your name on my arm in india ink)
Whoa, are you with me?
(I told you once before it's not what you think)
Whoa, is that the best you can give me?
Whoa, are you with me?
(I write your name on my arm in india ink
Baby I told you once before it's)

I don't know this for sure but I don't have much of a doubt as to the meaning of this song.
India Ink is a reference to Henna, or the Indian art of creating flower-like designs out of temporary ink.
The song is about being with someone that makes you feel so sure that you know that they're the one that you're willing to "carve" your body, but when you suggest to them the idea of permanence they're repulsed.
Basically every lyric in the song is about someone who can't commit when you're ready to commit and "India Ink" is the symbol for that lack of commitment.
You, Merkaba311, are a trail-blazing genius.

I've been waiting for a comment on this song that's legitimate, and you've done taken the cake.

Possibly my favorite song off of "Uplifter", and I'm glad somebody put it into words.

Merkaba311 the reference to India ink in my mind is to the permanent tattoos created with a sewing needle and India ink they are commonly known as "stick and poke" or prison tattoos :)great song!

this song is about nicks previous addiction to drugs. and how india ink is not what everybody thinks it is....aka drugs. "I write your name on my arm in india ink Baby I told you once before it's not what you think I drink you in with a sip but I really want a chug"
and about how he overcame his struggle and now hes at a better place, and correcting his mistakes in his past have lead him to better things, now hes gonna make sure to stay clean...
"I'm hanging on every word because the way that you think Yes, every misstep, well it lead me to you I'll do what I gotta do to see it through"
here hes just stating that it was a mistake.
"I admit it A big swing and a miss so I'll keep my distance back in it In a minute"
Nick's songs often have duel meanings, and hes much deeper than what people say he his..... Up for your interpretation

I love the rhythm in this song. They outdo themselves time and time again. It could be about a relationship which she is not ready to commit and it could be about Nick's drug addictions of the past. All I know is the chorus is well thought out and the rhythm makes me happy every time I hear it.

Just sick.
Reminds me of a little bit of from chaos and soundsystem.
