I'm really surprised there aren't more comments on this song. It's so touching and heartfelt... and really sad.
To me.. this song is about letting the girl go because he knows that she deserves better than him. He's treated her bad and he really truly is sorry for everything he's done to her, but he doesn't want her to stay with him because he knows he'll keep hurting her. She's an angel to him and he needs to leave her so she can find someone who can love her better than he can.
I hope that made sense haha. This song is just so powerful.. I just get flustered when I try to explain it. Maxwell definitely killed it with this track and he really brought R&B back. REAL R&B I mean. Which makes me so so so happy.

Beautiful song. On MTV he said that this was a bittersweet love song about meeting the right girl at the wrong time.
She can offer more than he can right now. He met her and fell in love. She is beautiful and perfect in his eyes. But he can't be with her right now. He might not be ready, or he has something he's "stuck" with (career, family, wife, etc). He let her fall deep in love as well, and he knows its going to hurt both of them but he had to draw the line and let her go
Oh and I think this song means that the girl has so much potential that she cannot be tied down by a guy that does not have potential

One of the most beautiful songs I've heard in awhile. Trials and tribulation in a relationship makes him realize he needs to let this beautiful girl fly away and go on living his life. This song is amazing and I cant wait to hear more from his upcoming new album!!!!
