Let's speak in breaths cause we can say more without
Using words and you're my favorite topic
Where's the heart? Where's the fire? Where's the look in your eyes?
I wanna see what you got now are you ready to go?

Your touch, my smile, this is my favorite moment
Don't give in too early cause I'm here for the chase
Your cheek, my lips, I like to keep it simple
You're not the type of person that I want to replace

And I like the look of where this is going
And you are so scared of getting hurt
And you know it's showing

You can't say honestly that this is what you came for
And I want more than just one night of our hands against the headboard

So what's it gonna take to keep you coming around?
Web or string of words? Something you've never heard?
And I'll make this a moment you can never forget
Not a second to waste when you're taking chances

And I like the look of where this is going
And you are so scared of getting hurt
And you know it's showing

You can't say honestly that this is what you came for
And I want more than just one night of our hands against the headboard
You know this well, I'm your best bet
It's more than what is spoken
What's the point of giving up on me when I'm waking up alone ever again?

You can't say honestly that this is what you came for
I want more than just one night of our hands against the headboard
You can't say honestly that this is what you came for
I want more than just one night of our hands against the headboard
You know this well, I'm your best bet
It's more than what is spoken
What's the point of giving up on me when I'm waking up alone ever again?

I totally agree with pphil09. He wants to start something with her even though she's scared. He's trying to figure out which will be the best way to be with her and he doesn't want her to give in so easily.

Fast Car
Tracy Chapman
"Fast car" is kind of a continuation of Bruce Springsteen's "Born to Run." It has all the clawing your way to a better life, but in this case the protagonist never makes it with her love; in fact she is dragged back down by him. There is still an amazing amount of hope and will in the lyrics; and the lyrics themselve rank and easy five. If only music was stronger it would be one of those great radio songs that you hear once a week 20 years after it was released. The imagery is almost tear-jerking ("City lights lay out before us", "Speeds so fast felt like I was drunk"), and the idea of starting from nothing and just driving and working and denigrating yourself for a chance at being just above poverty, then losing in the end is just painful and inspiring at the same time.

This is a sequel to 2001's "Reckless Abandon", and features the band looking back on their clumsy youth fondly.

Blue
Ed Sheeran
“Blue” is a song about a love that is persisting in the discomfort of the person experiencing the emotion. Ed Sheeran reflects on love lost, and although he wishes his former partner find happiness, he cannot but admit his feelings are still very much there. He expresses the realization that he might never find another on this stringed instrumental by Aaron Dessner.
