You just keep tuggin, pushin, pullin
On my little heartstrings
Got me all tied up in knots
Anytime I see your face
Oh it brings out
It brings out the girl in me
Don't know just how ya did it
But ya got me real good
Hook, line and sinker
Like I knew you could
But you don't even notice
Boy I wish you would

I can't help myself
I can't help but smile
Every time I see your face
And we've never met
I bet you don't know my name
Am I outta my mind
I think that I might be goin' crazy
Cause my heart is yours to have and hold or break
How'd you get to be so close
When you're so far away

I think you might be close to perfect
Girls you know what I mean
He's got a face straight out
Of a magazine
Gotta pinch myself
To prove he ain't a dream
Oh oh oh

I can't help myself
Now my secrets out
I can't help but smile
Every time I see your face
And we've never met
I bet you don't know my name
Am I outta my mind
I think that I might be goin' crazy
Cause my heart is yours to have and hold or break
How'd you get to be so close
When you're so far away

I wish you were mine all mine
Mine all mine
I wish you were mine all mine
I wish you were mine

I can't help but smile
Every time I see your face
And we've never met
I bet you don't know my name
Am I outta my mind
I think that I might be goin' crazy
Cause my heart is yours to have and hold or break
How'd you get to be so close
When you're so far away
How'd you get to be so close
When you're so far away

    My Opinion

Wow... I mean wow... In a good way! I mean J- Nett sounds amazing, and that's her actual voice. Man I didn't expect that voice to come out of her. I can't believe no one commented. This song is great. I had to listen to it twice, because the first time I was so amazed I wasn't paying attention. Then after the second time I just repeated it over and over. She can sing and Miranda can sing... I like them better than I like some of the people from Disney. If you haven't heard her and Nathan's Fast Food rap looke it up on youtube, they're so funny! I think she's mebeJennette on youtube.

Wow, she actually has a really good voice. And this song is super catchy. I can't stop listening to it, and I pretty much hate country.

    My Opinion

Jennette is an amazing singer (and actress!!) I hate a lot of country music, but I LOVE pretty much all of Jennette's songs, this one especially. I had my friend listen to it, and after staring at the computer screen with a look of amazement and shock, her initial comment was, "That's Jennette McCurdy?!? Her voice sounds so different! It's amazing!" And now she loves Jennette's songs :) She doesn't listen to ANY country music unless it's a song by Jennette XD

    Song Meaning

I think the meaning is pretty obvious but here goes... I think that this song is talking about having feelings for someone who you barely know. I feel this right now and so this song is amazing to me! Kudos to Jennette! Love this song!

Overall about difficult moments of disappointment and vulnerability. Having hope and longing, while remaining optimistic for the future. Encourages the belief that with each new morning there is a chance for things to improve. The chorus offers a glimmer of optimism and a chance at a resolution and redemption in the future. Captures the rollercoaster of emotions of feeling lost while loving someone who is not there for you, feeling let down and abandoned while waiting for a lover. Lost with no direction, "Now I'm up in the air with the rain in my hair, Nowhere to go, I can go anywhere" The bridge shows signs of longing and a plea for companionship. The Lyrics express a desire for authentic connection and the importance of Loving someone just as they are. "Just in passing, I'm not asking. That you be anyone but you”

I think much like another song “Anti-Matter” (that's also on the same album as this song), this one is also is inspired by a horrifying van crash the band experienced on Nov 3, 2022. This, much like the other track, sounds like it's an extension what they shared while huddled in the wreckage, as they helped frontman Garrett Russell stem the bleeding from his head wound while he was under the temporary effects of a concussion. The track speaks of where the mind goes at the most desperate & desolate of times, when it just about slips away to all but disconnect itself, and the aftermath.

Mountain Song
Jane's Addiction
Jane's Addiction vocalist Perry Farrell gives Adam Reader some heartfelt insight into Jane’s Addiction's hard rock manifesto "Mountain Song", which was the second single from their revolutionary album Nothing's Shocking. Mountain song was first recorded in 1986 and appeared on the soundtrack to the film Dudes starring Jon Cryer. The version on Nothing's Shocking was re-recorded in 1988. "'Mountain Song' was actually about... I hate to say it but... drugs. Climbing this mountain and getting as high as you can, and then coming down that mountain," reveals Farrell. "What it feels to descend from the mountain top... not easy at all. The ascension is tough but exhilarating. Getting down is... it's a real bummer. Drugs is not for everybody obviously. For me, I wanted to experience the heights, and the lows come along with it." "There's a part - 'Cash in now honey, cash in Miss Smith.' Miss Smith is my Mother; our last name was Smith. Cashing in when she cashed in her life. So... she decided that, to her... at that time, she was desperate. Life wasn't worth it for her, that was her opinion. Some people think, never take your life, and some people find that their life isn't worth living. She was in love with my Dad, and my Dad was not faithful to her, and it broke her heart. She was very desperate and she did something that I know she regrets."

This is a sequel to 2001's "Reckless Abandon", and features the band looking back on their clumsy youth fondly.
