"Too Fast For You" as written by and Kilbey....
Come down, another day
Morning streaked on a perspex screen
The screaming beaked blackbirds peck
The wrecked eyes of last week's lies

The sandman gets shallow sleep
He tries to weep for the grown-up things
One last peep for policemen
A'resting in the woodland side so steep

Oh and I hope I'm not going too fast for you
And don't believe it when they say it's over
It's not over

There's an ice age due on Wednesday
Overcast sky, blocks of fortune
The bridges sigh, the sweethearts are blank
They never thank, no, they never even try

Winking paperboy
Paperwork, overloaded portrait
Let it jerk you back to yesterday
That's where the curtains start to fray

Too fast for you
Too fast for you

General CommentThese are the flowing, connected thoughts of a mind gone cynical too soon in life. His explanation of his observations, thoughts, and feelings seem messy to him, and he is concerned about how he is coming across, or if at all. He hears words of change, new eras, etc., and sees no difference. Materialism in relationships, the subversion of all that is considered right and just, the crap on TV that represents no one's real lives or opinions, and the feeling of futility found by some in the routines of trying to stay current and connected, are just a few of the damnable things that endure. You can count on them to be there tomorrow--or later today, if you prefer not to wait.
