You can't get rid of me that easy, no
Not without a fight, your cool
And collective approach is appealing, yeah
You've got it down just right

You should put a blindfold over my eyes
And tape my mouth shut
When every word I say might as well be
Might as well be my last thought

No, I don't wanna make this an issue
I just wanna pick back up
Right where we left off
So we don't get caught up again

No, I don't wanna make this an issue
I just wanna pick back up
Right where we left off
So we don't get caught up again

You left me pictures just to tease me
Or maybe out of spite
You use your body to confuse me
Your hips swing just right

How do I control myself around you?
I need to be locked up
When every word I say might as well be
Might as well be my last one

No, I don't wanna make this an issue
I just wanna pick back up
Right where we left off
So we don't get caught up again

No, I don't wanna make this an issue
I just wanna pick back up
Right where we left off
So we don't get caught up again

You're a wolf in sheep's skin
Teeth can tear me limb from limb
Do you have the room to spare me
In your heart of hearts?

I'm a wolf in sheep's skin
Teeth can tear you limb from limb
I don't have the room to spare you

No, I don't wanna make this an issue
I just wanna pick back up
Right where we left off
So we don't get caught up again

No, I don't wanna make this an issue
I just wanna pick back up
Right where we left off
So we don't get caught up again

Pick back up
Right where we left off
So we don't get caught up again

well, first of all this cd is amazing (they never dissapoint me) and second this is one of the best songs on the album, its perfect..

its about someone whos generally giving you mixed signals but primarily killing you because they are blinding your good senses... you should get away from them but you care for them too much. and i think that most people want to be on the same page with others so that they dont have to say or do certain things...that it will be kind of an unspoken agreement. so maybe he means that he understands that nothing good is going to come out of the situation (like a descent relationship or anything meaninfull) and that he just wants to pick up where they left off and not make a big issue out of the fact that shes screwing him... its just something he doesnt want to make a big deal about because then once again reality sets in for him everytime the conversation comes up....why cant we?

does that make sense? hope so..

I think Cuppycakes pretty much nailed the song on the head. Very up-tempo song with deep lyrics, definitely a highlight of the album (and personally my favorite)

The drumming in this song is unbelievable. Slap on some headphones and listen to those rhythmic drum rolls, Cyrus, I salute you. Your best drumming on record to date.

Gentle Hour
Yo La Tengo
This song was originally written by a guy called Peter Gutteridge. He was one of the founders of the "Dunedin Sound" a musical scene in the south of New Zealand in the early 80s. From there it was covered by "The Clean" one of the early bands of that scene (he had originally been a member of in it's early days, writing a couple of their best early songs). The Dunedin sound, and the Clean became popular on american college radio in the mid to late 80s. I guess Yo La Tengo heard that version. Great version of a great song,

Amazing
Ed Sheeran
Ed Sheeran tells a story of unsuccessfully trying to feel “Amazing.” This track is about the being weighed down by emotional stress despite valiant attempts to find some positivity in the situation. This track was written by Ed Sheeran from the perspective of his friend. From the track, we see this person fall deeper into the negative thoughts and slide further down the path of mental torment with every lyric.

Plastic Bag
Ed Sheeran
“Plastic Bag” is a song about searching for an escape from personal problems and hoping to find it in the lively atmosphere of a Saturday night party. Ed Sheeran tells the story of his friend and the myriad of troubles he is going through. Unable to find any solutions, this friend seeks a last resort in a party and the vanity that comes with it. “I overthink and have trouble sleepin’ / All purpose gone and don’t have a reason / And there’s no doctor to stop this bleedin’ / So I left home and jumped in the deep end,” Ed Sheeran sings in verse one. He continues by adding that this person is feeling the weight of having disappointed his father and doesn’t have any friends to rely on in this difficult moment. In the second verse, Ed sings about the role of grief in his friend’s plight and his dwindling faith in prayer. “Saturday night is givin’ me a reason to rely on the strobe lights / The lifeline of a promise in a shot glass, and I’ll take that / If you’re givin’ out love from a plastic bag,” Ed sings on the chorus, as his friend turns to new vices in hopes of feeling better.
