On the cusp of Vessel 18
A look of terror in our eyes
The moonlight licked the face of danger
Innocence made us like soldiers
Untouchable and golden
The quilt of darkness dotted with our teardrops

I know you're sad I'm leaving
So this may hurt a little
But girl look from your window late tonight
You think my heart is frozen
While yours is slowly grieving
You'll see the boy you loved start burning in the sky

We were a dozen to the project
With a galaxy of questions
And all we heard was lies about the truth
No choice but be obedient
Like prisoners of war
Caught on the wrong side of morality and youth

We thought about our loved ones
Tallied fifty on our foreheads
With the pen your mother gave me in the Spring
The sun beat at the windows
Within an hour James had cracked
Left the ship and died still clinging to the wings

Start burning in the sky
Start burning in the sky
Start burning in the sky
Start burning in the sky
Start burning in the sky
Start burning in the sky

    My Interpretation

--This is my interpretation of the song and LYRICS CORRECTION in stars:--

"On the cusp of vessel eighteen, A look of terror in our eyes, The moonlight licked the face of danger"

--They are in an Apollo mission to the moon, stuck in a ship, and something is going wrong--

"Innocence made us like soldiers, Untouchable and golden, A quilt of darkness dotted with our teardrops..."

--They are not soldiers due to the words "innocence made us like soldiers"--

"I know you're sad I'm leaving, So this may hurt a little, But girl, look from your window late tonight..."

--The girl is heartbroken that he has to go on the mission--

"You think my heart is frozen, While yours is slowly grieving, You see the boy you love start burning in the sky."

--She thinks he doesn't care and doesn't feel emotion while she is extremely sad he has to go, she will look up from her window and see a flash in the sky which is his ship and crew on fire dying in the sky--

"You are a dozen to the project, With a galaxy of questions, And all we heard was lies about the truth."

--The people who employed them for the mission told them it was safe--

"No choice but be obedient, Like prisoners of war, Caught on the wrong side of morality and youth."

--He was forced to go on the mission to the moon for money or some other reason and "caught on the wrong side of morality"--

"We thought about our loved ones, Tallying fifty on our foreheads, With the pen your mother gave me in the spring."

--Him and his crew knew that they were about to die and though about loved ones, tallied numbers with his pen that reminded him of his girlfriend and they waited for the death they could not escape--

"The sun beat at the windows, Within an hour James had cracked. Left the ship and died, still clinging to the wings."

--The sun through the windows of the vessel was very bright and the stress got to their shipmate, James, and he left the ship and died (no air) still floating and clinging to the wings--

"Start burning in the sky... Start burning in the sky... Start burning in the sky... Start burning in the sky... "

--In a way, my interpretation sounds like the TV show, "Defying Gravity". I know this is probably not about that type of situation but I interpreted it that way.

Son Şansın - Şarkı Sözleri
Hayalperest
This song seemingly tackles the methods of deception those who manipulate others use to get victims to follow their demands, as well as diverting attention away from important issues. They'll also use it as a means to convince people to hate or kill others by pretending acts of terrorism were committed by the enemy when the acts themselves were done by the masters of control to promote discrimination and hate. It also reinforces the idea that these manipulative forces operate in various locations, infiltrating everyday life without detection, and propagate any and everywhere. In general, it highlights the danger of hidden agendas, manipulation, and distraction, serving as a critique of those who exploit chaos and confusion to control and gain power, depicting a cautionary tale against falling into their traps. It encourages us to question the narratives presented to us and remain vigilant against manipulation in various parts of society.

Silent Planet
I think much like another song “Anti-Matter” (that's also on the same album as this song), this one is also is inspired by a horrifying van crash the band experienced on Nov 3, 2022. This, much like the other track, sounds like it's an extension what they shared while huddled in the wreckage, as they helped frontman Garrett Russell stem the bleeding from his head wound while he was under the temporary effects of a concussion. The track speaks of where the mind goes at the most desperate & desolate of times, when it just about slips away to all but disconnect itself, and the aftermath.

Magical
Ed Sheeran
How would you describe the feeling of being in love? For Ed Sheeran, the word is “Magical.” in HIS three-minute album opener, he makes an attempt to capture the beauty and delicacy of true love with words. He describes the magic of it all over a bright Pop song produced by Aaron Dessner.

Head > Heels
Ed Sheeran
“Head > Heels” is a track that aims to capture what it feels like to experience romance that exceeds expectations. Ed Sheeran dedicates his album outro to a lover who has blessed him with a unique experience that he seeks to describe through the song’s nuanced lyrics.

Page
Ed Sheeran
There aren’t many things that’ll hurt more than giving love a chance against your better judgement only to have your heart crushed yet again. Ed Sheeran tells such a story on “Page.” On this track, he is devastated to have lost his lover and even more saddened by the feeling that he may never move on from this.
