Bled dry,a bullet never lies
Look into my eyes girl, would i lie to you?
Stained grave, do you feel the same way?
Tears run down my spine girl, would i lie to you?

Start the engine to my car
I feel that romance will take the back seat tonight
Part the seal to my heart
I feel that my chance is under the moonlight

Watch the world (it's a disaster)
Let it bleed (forever after)
As i lay you took my breath away (you took my breath away)
Watch the world (it's a disaster)
Let it bleed (forever after)
As i lay you took my breath away

Sorrow, wait until tomorrow
Hold me close, never go
Know that i would lie to you

Insane, i still feel that sharp pain
Running down my spine, girl
Girl I'd die for you

Watch the world (it's a disaster)
Let it bleed (forever after)
As i lay you took my breath away
Watch the world (it's a disaster)
Let it bleed (forever after)
As i lay you took my breath away

Forever just won't be the same
Still i forgive you the pain
Take these broken wings fly from the heart you stole
Cutting your dress on the floor
Still i forgive you once more
Take these broken wings fly from the heart you stole

Watch the world, Let it bleed, As i lay you took my breath away

Watch the world
Let it bleed
As i lay you took my breath away
Watch the world (it's a disaster)
Let it bleed (forever after)
As i lay you took my breath away

    Aha. Agreed.

And "We Break Dance, Not Hearts" does own ALL TITLES.

My favourite line of this is "Take these broken wings fly from the heart you stole" I don't know why, it's just beautiful!

hmm i added these lyrics months ago, along with thick as thieves. The goddamn site wouldn't stick them on the page and now i can't add thick as thieves because "a song by this name already exists for this artist" even though now, the page is gone. lol. stupid ass website. not to mention the page i had for this song, we break dance, not hearts, is now gone too.

    /end complain

i used to only like we break dance, not hearts compared to thick as thieves. but there are certain qualities about thick as thieves that i prefer over we break dance, not hearts. however, the title "we break dance, not hearts" totally owns "thick as thieves" as a title.

as for the song meaning, i'm not one to post my meaning about songs. i like to read what other people think. i dunno.. i'm just odd. :) we need more short stack fans on this website though.... even if it is dodgy to me :(

i like short stack in general.. but their lyrics.. dont really have specific meanings all the time? and if they do they're difficult to decode.

i love this song, its very catchy. by the sounds of it

"Bled dry,a bullet never lies Look into my eyes girl, would i lie to you? Stained grave, do you feel the same way? Tears run down my spine girl, would i lie to you?"

    and

"Watch the world (it's a disaster) Let it bleed (forever after)"

give me the impression that maybe this song is about a girl who has died and the guy has had a difficult previous relationship or if she hasn't physcially died their relationship has and he's really messed up.

but thats how I see it.

    My Opinion

i think that this song is like about how the relationship shaun (or someone else) was in totally didnt work and then the guy (who may or may not be shaun) got depressed and was feeling really blue cause he liked the girl. like REALLY liked the girl, and then i think he went a tad insane and started thinking about death and stuff.. well thats what i think..

    My Interpretation

I agree with MissBron we need SO many more fans on this website, I also love reading others' interpretations of songs. I mean some songs have a clear meaning, and some artists talk about why they wrote a song, but most songs are so open to interpretation and can take so many different meanings to everyone.

Short stack lyrics are brilliant: they don't "make sense" literally - which is why they DO make sense on a much deeper level- and the heavy use of metaphors and everything just adds to the intensity of the lyrics. Personally I think this song is about a guy who is severely heart broken. "as i lay you took my breath away" - this could mean "you were so beautiful you took my breath away" but I'm interpreting it as "You left me and I stopped breathing".

"Forever just won't be the same Still i forgive you the pain Take these broken wings fly from the heart you stole Cutting your dress on the floor Still i forgive you once more Take these broken wings fly from the heart you stole"

I love that entire verse there. I think it is beautiful! He loves her so much that he forgives her more than once. It's almost as if he loves her so much that he is willing to let her go ("...fly from the heart you stole") knowing that he will suffer, and if she ever does come back, he will forgive her and still be willing to let her go again if she needs it.

Anyway, it is extremely likely that the song writers would look at my comment and think Wow this song has been misunderstood completely lol, but when I listen to it, that's what I make of it. Whatever it is though, it is beautiful!

The Night We Met
Lord Huron
This is a hauntingly beautiful song about introspection, specifically about looking back at a relationship that started bad and ended so poorly, that the narrator wants to go back to the very beginning and tell himself to not even travel down that road. I believe that the relationship started poorly because of the lines: "Take me back to the night we met:When the night was full of terrors: And your eyes were filled with tears: When you had not touched me yet" So, the first night was not a great start, but the narrator pursued the relationship and eventually both overcame the rough start to fall in love with each other: "I had all and then most of you" Like many relationships that turn sour, it was not a quick decline, but a gradual one where the narrator and their partner fall out of love and gradually grow apart "Some and now none of you" Losing someone who was once everything in your world, who you could confide in, tell your secrets to, share all the most intimate parts of your life, to being strangers with that person is probably one of the most painful experiences a person can go through. So Painful, the narrator wants to go back in time and tell himself to not even pursue the relationship. This was the perfect song for "13 Reasons Why"

Son Şansın - Şarkı Sözleri
Hayalperest
This song seemingly tackles the methods of deception those who manipulate others use to get victims to follow their demands, as well as diverting attention away from important issues. They'll also use it as a means to convince people to hate or kill others by pretending acts of terrorism were committed by the enemy when the acts themselves were done by the masters of control to promote discrimination and hate. It also reinforces the idea that these manipulative forces operate in various locations, infiltrating everyday life without detection, and propagate any and everywhere. In general, it highlights the danger of hidden agendas, manipulation, and distraction, serving as a critique of those who exploit chaos and confusion to control and gain power, depicting a cautionary tale against falling into their traps. It encourages us to question the narratives presented to us and remain vigilant against manipulation in various parts of society.

Just A Little Lovin'
Dusty Springfield
I don't think it's necessarily about sex. It's about wanting to start the day with some love and affection. Maybe a warm cuddle. I'm not alone in interpreting it that way! For example: "'Just a Little Lovin’ is a timeless country song originally recorded by Eddy Arnold in 1954. The song, written by Eddie Miller and Jimmy Campbell, explores the delicate nuances of love and showcases Arnold’s emotive vocals. It delves into the universal theme of love and how even the smallest gesture of affection can have a profound impact on our lives." https://oldtimemusic.com/the-meaning-behind-the-song-just-a-little-lovin-by-eddy-arnold/
