I was broken
I was tired now I'm bound
My head is off the ground
For a long time I was so weary
Time will decide, but before
No one loves the nighttime at the door
haunted by the things I've been yeah
Stuck between the burning light and the dusty shade

Said I, used to think the past was dead and gone;
But I was wrong, so wrong
Whatever makes a flower must make you strong, make you strong, yeah
At my time I've melted into many forms
From the day that I was born, oh.
But I know there's no place to hide;
Something between the burning shade and the faded light

I was broken for a long time
But it's over now
Said I was broken for a long time
But it's over now

Yes and you, yeah you walk these lonely streets and people stare
People stare
There are some fools that just count in and I do pretend;

And I'm free from all the things that saved my friend
And I was there to the end
Yeah I know I can take the moon
Something between the burning shade and the faded light

And I was broken for a long time
But it's over now, it's over now
Mm it's over no'w, now, now
It's over now, its over now.
It's over now, now, now

Said I was broken for a long time
But it's over, but it's over
But it's over, but it's over
But it's over, but it's over
But it's over now, now, now, now
But it's over, love is over
But it's over now
But it's over, love is over
But it's over now, now, now
I was broken for a long time yeah
But it's over, but it's over now yeah
Over now, it's all over, it's over now.

I don't think he ever get's off pitch, or any of that. I'm not trying to come at this as an attack against other's comments, but I think he's totally on the whole time. You can feel and hear his passion behind this, and to me that's the most on key you can be. I love his voice, it's so unusual and luxurious to me. Really, every time I listen to him it's just tooooo good. It's so good it almost hurts haha, I have no idea how to explain it! I read twilight and that's how I got into him but now I'm a fan because of his music more than anything. I hope he keeps acting, but even more so I wish he'd come out with an album that sounds just like this. No voice editors, just his regular voice, on pitch or off. If I ever met him I'd have to say something about how much I need him to get an official album done. Wayyyyyy too good to be kept within just several songs.

Pretty sure this was written by Marcus Foster. I have a live version (might be the only cover version he does); it is absolutely stunning. LOVE his voice. Hated him in Twilight, but then I heard him sing and well... I still think he should stop acting, but now I can justify it by saying he should be a full-time musician.

Robert sings this amazingly and with such devotion. I really hope he pursues music further, he really seems to enjoy it.

i think his songs are beautiful. i really feel what he's feeling and what he's trying to say. i can see how most people would think it sounds like he's whining, but i just think the emotion is so strong.

    My Interpretation

The real lyrics goes like this

"I was tied now unbound my head is off the ground for a long time I was so weary tired off the sound I've heard before the gnawing of the nigh time at the door haunted by the things I've made stuck between the burning light and the dust shade I said now I used to think the past was dead and gone I was wrong, so wrong whatever makes you blind must make you strong, make you strong in my time I've melted into many forms from the day that I was born I know that there's no place to hide stuck between the burning shade and the fading light I was broken for a long time but it's over now I was broken for a long time but it's over now

Yes and you, well you walk these lonely streets that people send, people send there are some wounds that just can't mend, I do pretend, pretend, I am free from all the things that take my friends but I will stand here till the end, I know that I can take the moon, in between the burning shade and the fading light I was broken for a long time but it's over now, it's over now, 's over now, now, now, now, it's over now 's over now, Said I was broken for a log time but it's over [x12] i was broken for a long time then but it's over but it's over now." It matches if you really listen to the song :P

His voice is absolutely amazing. It just blows me away. I obviously agree with every girl in the world that he is extremely hot and was amazing as Edward on Twilight..but I think his true talent is singing. I'm hoping that he will make an official album reeeeallly soon. I have been listening to his few songs over and over and over again and i love them so much but i really want to know what else he has in store.

I dont think there's really any hidden meaning in this song whatsoever. He comes out and says exactly what it means- i was broken for a long time but its over now

there was obviously something hurting him but he overcame it and is now healing. And even though there are some things that will still hurt, he overcame the majority of it and became a strong and better person.

Dreamwalker
Silent Planet
I think much like another song “Anti-Matter” (that's also on the same album as this song), this one is also is inspired by a horrifying van crash the band experienced on Nov 3, 2022. This, much like the other track, sounds like it's an extension what they shared while huddled in the wreckage, as they helped frontman Garrett Russell stem the bleeding from his head wound while he was under the temporary effects of a concussion. The track speaks of where the mind goes at the most desperate & desolate of times, when it just about slips away to all but disconnect itself, and the aftermath.

Just A Little Lovin'
Dusty Springfield
I don't think it's necessarily about sex. It's about wanting to start the day with some love and affection. Maybe a warm cuddle. I'm not alone in interpreting it that way! For example: "'Just a Little Lovin’ is a timeless country song originally recorded by Eddy Arnold in 1954. The song, written by Eddie Miller and Jimmy Campbell, explores the delicate nuances of love and showcases Arnold’s emotive vocals. It delves into the universal theme of love and how even the smallest gesture of affection can have a profound impact on our lives." https://oldtimemusic.com/the-meaning-behind-the-song-just-a-little-lovin-by-eddy-arnold/

Ed Sheeran
Ed Sheeran shares a short story of reconnecting with an old flame on “American Town.” The track is about a holiday Ed Sheeran spends with his countrywoman who resides in America. The two are back together after a long period apart, and get around to enjoying a bunch of fun activities while rekindling the flames of their romance.

Page
Ed Sheeran
There aren’t many things that’ll hurt more than giving love a chance against your better judgement only to have your heart crushed yet again. Ed Sheeran tells such a story on “Page.” On this track, he is devastated to have lost his lover and even more saddened by the feeling that he may never move on from this.
