She was standing there by the broken tree
Her hands were all twisted she was pointing at me
I was damned by the light coming out of her eyes
She spoke with a voice that disrupted the sky
She said ' Come on over to the bitter shade,
I will wrap you in my arms and you'll know you've been saved'
Let me sign, let me sign, can't fight the devil so just let me sign.

I was out for a drink in a soho bar
The air was smoked out liked a cheap cigar
She rose out of her seat like a painted ghost
She was the woman that I wanted the most
As she reached for my arm I gave her my hand
I said 'Lay me down easy let me understand'
Let me sign, let sign, can't fight the devil so just let me sign.

As I walked through the door she was still in my head
As I entered the room she was laid there in bed
She reached out for me all twisted in black
I was on my way down, never coming back
let me sign, let me sign, can't fight the devil so just let me sign.
let me sign, let me sign, can't fight the devil so just let me sign.

was on marcus foster's (who actually wrote this song with rob) myspace and he posted the lyrics as:

she was standing there by the broken tree, her hands were all twisted, she was pointing at me. i was damned by the light coming out of her eyes, she spoke with a voice that disrupted the sky. she said "come on over to the bitter shade, i will wrap you in my arms and you'll know you've been saved". let me sign, let me sign

there's actually alot more to this song and rob only recorded the first verse but it's actually about a prostitute and the words 'let me sign' refer to signing your soul over to the devil.

it's all there if you want to look for yourself profile.myspace.com/index.cfm

This song was NOT written for Twilight. I know it may be hard for some of you to believe that he had a career before Twilight. He's done better movies.

See, this is how I hear the lyrics:

Standing by a broken tree Her hands are all twisted She's pointing at me I was damned by the light comin' Over all I see She spoke with a voice that disrupted the sky She said walk on over here to a bit of shade I will wrap you in my arms and always stay Let me sign, let me sign

These lyrics are a little bit easy to understand, to interpret. What do you think?

    My Interpretation

Here is my interpretation of some of Let Me Sign from the point that Rob is acting as Edward in Twilight:

"Has her arms twisted Is pointing at me" means that she's trying to decide which way to go, but all the while her destiny is set in her mind... She will go to him and fall in love with a man that could potentially kill her.

"She spoke with a voice that strucked at the sky She said come on over, yeah Bittersweet" means that she talks to him and her voice sounds loud and clear and beautiful to him, as well does the smell of her blood. She says "come on over" and it will be bittersweet to him because he could kill her for her succulant blood or he could hold back and love her for all time.

=) I am a HUGE Twilight fan, so having Rob Pattinson sing songs for the soundtrack was awesome!

I think this song is so beautiful and first perfectly with Edward's point of view.

I think it's about how Edward thinks he's damned, and Bella still comes to him and wants him.

"She said 'let me sign'" I think is when Bella tells him she wants to be a vampire he thinks of it as her wanting to sign her soul away.

It's "bittersweet" for both of them because Edward finally has someone to complete him but (in his eyes) it means taking away her soul. And for Bella she's found someone to complete her but it means giving up her family and friends.

Despite the "bitter" parts neither of them can stay away, like when "her hands are all twisted"but she's still "pointing at me", the path is twisted, but it's clear how she wants it to end, and how it will end, despite any resistance.

The song is so amazing and that part of the movie makes me cry. I love Rob's voice and I wish he'd write more ^_^

I dont think this song was intended for twilight but for new moon instead. Yes she wanted to become a vampire but if you think about New Moon after she's been broken by Edward and Jacob. She's made her choice and that choice is Edward. She loves him and wants to marry him! They go to his house and vote and all if she should become a vampire even though its inevitable anyways with the volturi. He still fears for her soul even though she tells him that her soul is his to have from the very beginning.

Standing by a broken tree, Her hands are all twisted, She's pointing at me, I was damned by light comin, All a while she spoke with at voice that struck up at the sky, She said, "Walk on over here to a bit of shade, I'll wrap you in my arms if only you say you'll let me, Let me sign"

Let me sign is referring to him letting her sign onto him and his world.

I love this song it was so perfect for the movie and their love story.

This song sounds so sad to me, but the lyrics aren't sad at all. Makes me cry every time. Don't know why.

Son Şansın - Şarkı Sözleri
Hayalperest
This song seemingly tackles the methods of deception those who manipulate others use to get victims to follow their demands, as well as diverting attention away from important issues. They'll also use it as a means to convince people to hate or kill others by pretending acts of terrorism were committed by the enemy when the acts themselves were done by the masters of control to promote discrimination and hate. It also reinforces the idea that these manipulative forces operate in various locations, infiltrating everyday life without detection, and propagate any and everywhere. In general, it highlights the danger of hidden agendas, manipulation, and distraction, serving as a critique of those who exploit chaos and confusion to control and gain power, depicting a cautionary tale against falling into their traps. It encourages us to question the narratives presented to us and remain vigilant against manipulation in various parts of society.

Little Feat
Overall about difficult moments of disappointment and vulnerability. Having hope and longing, while remaining optimistic for the future. Encourages the belief that with each new morning there is a chance for things to improve. The chorus offers a glimmer of optimism and a chance at a resolution and redemption in the future. Captures the rollercoaster of emotions of feeling lost while loving someone who is not there for you, feeling let down and abandoned while waiting for a lover. Lost with no direction, "Now I'm up in the air with the rain in my hair, Nowhere to go, I can go anywhere" The bridge shows signs of longing and a plea for companionship. The Lyrics express a desire for authentic connection and the importance of Loving someone just as they are. "Just in passing, I'm not asking. That you be anyone but you”
