You Don't See Me Lyrics
The way it reaches out to me is that this guy is friends with/or knows a girl that is very attractive, and only looks at and talks to other attractive people :
"Like beautiful dawns, all made up and bright Radiant people, in splintering light All moving at the speed of life Reflecting in each others' eyes"
The fact that she's attractive is pointed out again by how she thinks that the world revolves about her/how she's feeling/what she's doing:
"Oh truly we are, a fortunate few Who turn on your axis, revolve around you All spinning outwards from your sun Passing your reflection on"
But he loves her and being the best friend/nice guy he's over looked by her and how she doesn't see his love for her, yet her world still seems fine without it:
"Such a beautiful view I guess you've seen it all But you You see nothing at all Such a beautiful view"
Towards the end i like to think he's realised how shallow she is and how he doesn't stand a chance with her, yet she's "irresistable" so he can't get her out of her head:
"Shining so bright So bright
All moving at the speed of life Reflecting in each others' eyes But you're moving with such irresistible speed You don't see me"
The realisation being enhanced by "No, you dont see me" as if he's speaking to himself
Great lyrics by a great british band and i'm sure they reach out to many who feel the lyrics are very relavent, much like myself. This is how i take the meaning of the song to be anyway...
"the speed of life": nice one
okay here's my guess: it's about people, maybe a couple (A and B). They're living their life that is so beautiful that it seems fake. They share that happiness. But one -A- of the two doesnt take the time to appreciate all this, to truly see the other one -B- (missing something). There are only a few people who know A and A makes them happy. But still A doesnt fully appreciate it. A is so happy that he/she may have lived all the good things but there's actually one thing that is being missed: taking the time to enjoy what you have and know B.
This song is a channeled song from source about God and the afterlife. People are so busy speeding around their daily lives that they don't see the light. If the writer thinks it's about people then they probably don't realise where the words from the song have come from. If you can see it, all of life is such a beautiful view. The sad thing is most people here on Earth don't see the light until it's too late. Ever wondered why so many see the light on their deathbed?

I don't think it's such a religious song..
I don't think it's such a religious song..
I guess it's about lover don't see his other lover feelings or don't care of him like he want ..... he don't see ... even everything is clear enough
maybe its just about the people in common, everyone is too busy to care about the others.....
I kinda get this feeling of a guy and a girl, maybe close friends. The girl is obviously gorgeous and turns the head of every guy she walks past, probably knowing a few of them as well "Oh truly we are the fortunate few, who turn on your axis revolve around you , all spinning outwards from your sun" But in this girl's to get where she wants in life, she is naive about these men who look on her with wonder and quite possibly love. She has no clue, and the singer feels like he is completely invisible to this girl. She's attempting to take in everything life has to offer (as many people do nowadays) that she fails to notice this guy is struck dumb by love for her. It is his pain that makes him sing the sad cynical, "You see nothing at all, such a beautiful view." He is sad that she sees this wonderful scene that life has, and knows he will never be able to captivate her the same way "In your hurry to grasp, everything that you see, you don't see me".
hmm...
i think it's about God & universe..
just my guess...
one from best songs ever .... remind me of " u on my mind in my sleep " for the richard from the Verve ,,,
In this song like in many from the Perfect Symmetry album I see a specific esoteric meaning.
First lines in my opinion are hinting at the ability to see human auras. A person who sings either can do that or just admires the potentials.
The rest of the lyrics is more or less clear. It illustrates the situation when people with very different world views are falling in love with each other, or only one of them as in this case. The attempt to show the other man the real beauty of the world can be hard and dissapointing when another one trapped in his life problems and doesn't want to see it.
I don't think the song is necessarily just about love but also the feeling of social anxiety and isolation, the feeling of being misunderstood completely, but I think it also is about remembering the awe of the universe itself, and that other people live lives just as complex and detailed as your's, and may be surprisingly similar, regardless of their location, ethnicity, race, sex, etc.
"All moving at the speed of light"
This is a perfect line. It shows us how often time passes us so fast. Have you ever said "wow, that passed really quickly" or anything similar like that? That's exactly what it's referring to.
"Reflecting in each others eyes"
I think this is also a line that references how quick we are to make assumptions about people. We often generalize people and categorize them into certain groups or stereotypes, yet not so often do we learn about their real life experiences, their personality, etc. We don't ever think of the struggles they might've been in. We never really get to learn them, or why they do what they do.
"Such a beautiful view"
Reminds me of staring at a city skyline, or a city street, or any kind of place where people congregate. Have you ever wondered what those people's lives are like? I think it implies the person wishes to know those people more, and those people know him/her more.
