For people like your, there is no such thing as an early grave.
Your wanted to gut my dreams til I was empty, and show everyone my remains.

"And after everything you put me through, I should of fucking pissed on you"

This song meaning is obvious, and Oli has said what it's about himself.

It's about the incident that occured at Nottingham Rock City concerning the girl he allegedly urinated on and bottled. He's basically just venting the anger and frustration that the whole thing caused him; the accusations, the court case, etc.

The final line is basically saying she should have been pissed for it, and would've deserved to be pissed on for what the whole thing put him through. Like, he got blamed for it and many people still don't believe him so he may aswell have done.

I don't know whether it truely happened or not myself, and I don't think anyone ever will besides those who were there at the time it happened.

He never got convicted, the case was pulled due to lack of evidence against him.

Hm, very interesting. I didn't know oli was convicted - but its not surprising. =P.. I love these lyrics though. It's so Oli Sykes - Letting out his anger but sounding like he's just pulling it out off his ass to scream it at someone on a moments notice. but that fact about him is FANTASTIC. i love how he is so blunt ;]

me and my friend played this full blast in our school common room. everyone was like, turn this shit off! hahaha. then when he says 'and after everything you put me through, i shouldaa fucking pissed on you'. everyone was like, WTFFF was that about!??! it was funny.

hmm, i agree with what he's trying to say. im not 100% sure he's innocent though. something gives me a weird feeling. i guess their fans would all be obsessed with oli (for most girls, the only reason they even listen to bmth), it seems like the kind of thing a real cunt would make up. although, it spread their name around right? so she did them a favour in some way i guess.

This song is pretty much the "FUCK YOU" anthem lol.

oh, and when i saw BMTH in concert, Oli made everyone scream, "FUCK YOU!" before they started the song... it was great.

Standing On The Edge Of Summer
Thursday
In regards to the meaning of this song: Before a live performance on the EP Five Stories Falling, Geoff states “It’s about the last time I went to visit my grandmother in Columbus, and I saw that she was dying and it was the last time I was going to see her. It is about realizing how young you are, but how quickly you can go.” That’s the thing about Geoff and his sublime poetry, you think it’s about one thing, but really it’s about something entirely different. But the lyrics are still universal and omnipresent, ubiquitous, even. So relatable. That’s one thing I love about this band. I also love their live performances, raw energy and Geoff’s beautiful, imperfectly perfect vocals. His voice soothes my aching soul.

Fast Car
Tracy Chapman
"Fast car" is kind of a continuation of Bruce Springsteen's "Born to Run." It has all the clawing your way to a better life, but in this case the protagonist never makes it with her love; in fact she is dragged back down by him. There is still an amazing amount of hope and will in the lyrics; and the lyrics themselve rank and easy five. If only music was stronger it would be one of those great radio songs that you hear once a week 20 years after it was released. The imagery is almost tear-jerking ("City lights lay out before us", "Speeds so fast felt like I was drunk"), and the idea of starting from nothing and just driving and working and denigrating yourself for a chance at being just above poverty, then losing in the end is just painful and inspiring at the same time.

When We Were Young

This is a sequel to 2001's "Reckless Abandon", and features the band looking back on their clumsy youth fondly.

Amazing
Ed Sheeran

This track was written by Ed Sheeran from the perspective of his friend. From the track, we see this person fall deeper into the negative thoughts and slide further down the path of mental torment with every lyric.
