I smoke two joints in the morning, I smoke two joints at night
I smoke two joints in the afternoon, it makes me feel alright
I smoke two joints in time of peace, and two in time of war
I smoke two joints before I smoke two joints, and then I smoke two more

Oh, my daddy he once told me, "son, you be hard working man"
My mama she once told me, "son, you do the best you can"
But then one day I met a man who came up to me and said
"Hard work good and hard work fine, but first take care of head"

So now
I smoke two joints when I get up, in the car I smoke two joints
I smoke two joints when I play video game, and at every ten thousand points
(I smoke two joints)
I smoke two joints in time of peace, and two in time of war
I smoke two joints before I smoke two joints, and then I smoke two more

Oh, my daddy he once told me, "son, you be hard working man"
My mama she once told me, "son, you do the bet you can"
But then one day I met a man who came up to me and said
"Hard work good and hard work fine, but first take care of head"

I smoke two joints in the morning, I smoke two joints at night
I smoke two joints in the afternoon, it makes me feel alright
I smoke two joints in time of peace, and two in time of war
I smoke two joints before I smoke two joints, and then I smoke two more

Smoke two joints
That's what I do
Smoke two joints
Come smoke two joints with me in the morning
Smoke two joints
Come smoke two joints with me in the afternoon, yeah
Smoke two joints
Hey, would you rather smoke two joints or rather do your homework?
Smoke two joints
I knew you were going to say that!
Smoke two joints
Smoke two joints
That's what I do!
Smoke two joints

Song MeaningThis is clearly a crypto-Marxist allusion to the factors that keep society balanced. When he 'smokes two joints' expresses a deep realisation that the bonds between honest working class folk are destroyed by the huge growth available from capital investment, compared with overall economic growth, causing instability in capitalist society.

This couldn't be spelt out more clearly than in the reference to war and peace, the eternal crucible capitalism uses to oppress the person in the street. Sadly the authour's parents are complicit in this destructive cycle.
