Folding my clothes
And I feel useless
Don't think I know
How to do this
Once I was told
But like any misfit
I spit on some good advice

Out in the cold
And tryin' to make fire
Two sticks and stone
Still got no fire
Once I was shown
But I was inside then
And spit on that good advice

Wisdom, wisdom
Where can I get some?
Wisdom, wisdom

On the payroll
And digging up ditches
Dollar is low
So are my wages
Once I was told
Just how to get rich
But I spit on that good advice

Wisdom, wisdom
Where can I get some?
Wisdom, wisdom

Oh-oh-oh
Oh-oh-oh
Oh-oh-oh

Wisdom, wisdom
Where can I get some?
Wisdom, wisdom
I wanna trade my dimwits in for tips
Tips equipped with
Wisdom, wisdom

Take off my clothes
And I feel useless
Don't think I know
How to do this
Once I was told
But I like to fidget
And miss out on good advice

    That's what I think too Bovine =/

The lyrics posted doesn't necessarily mean it's correct, it is interpreted by an individual on this site after all. (Although I just goggled and they all say tips. Darn!)

Theme from the song can be inferred from just title alone, but I would like to add one thing. You can see the repetition of the line saying out the artist spit on or missed out on good advice. This suggests previous ignorance, but the simple fact that he is able to recognize and talk about it now shows new enlightenment. The artist has learned from his mistakes. He has matured.

Now I've got a list of some friends that could use enlightening too >.>

another song that can be explained by listening, but i think what is tryin to be said is that you'll never know when you will need a piece of advice

Even when it seems pointless "Still got no fire Once I was shown But I was inside then", dont be so ignorant not to listen!

    My Interpretation

I'm probably going out on a limb here, but the song doesn't necessarily strike me as one the artist wrote about himself. To me, there's a sort of story that progresses through the verses. It starts with the person moving out or being kicked out of their house, "folding my clothes, and I feel useless," can infer packing It then moves on to the person being homeless for a short period of time, "out in the cold," The next verse shows the person finding employment, however the wages of this job are too low. I think the bridge represents some kind of change in the person's life, a lot of chaos happening Then the last verse is very clearly about sex. The progression of the song thus far leads me to theorize that the subject of the song has to resort to prostitution by the end of the song in order to make ends meet.

As stated above, the overlying themes of wisdom and ignoring good advice are extremely clear. This is just something else that really stuck out at me, so I thought I'd share it.

Just A Little Lovin'
Dusty Springfield
I don't think it's necessarily about sex. It's about wanting to start the day with some love and affection. Maybe a warm cuddle. I'm not alone in interpreting it that way! For example: "'Just a Little Lovin’ is a timeless country song originally recorded by Eddy Arnold in 1954. The song, written by Eddie Miller and Jimmy Campbell, explores the delicate nuances of love and showcases Arnold’s emotive vocals. It delves into the universal theme of love and how even the smallest gesture of affection can have a profound impact on our lives." https://oldtimemusic.com/the-meaning-behind-the-song-just-a-little-lovin-by-eddy-arnold/

Amazing
Ed Sheeran
Ed Sheeran tells a story of unsuccessfully trying to feel “Amazing.” This track is about the being weighed down by emotional stress despite valiant attempts to find some positivity in the situation. This track was written by Ed Sheeran from the perspective of his friend. From the track, we see this person fall deeper into the negative thoughts and slide further down the path of mental torment with every lyric.

Page
Ed Sheeran
There aren’t many things that’ll hurt more than giving love a chance against your better judgement only to have your heart crushed yet again. Ed Sheeran tells such a story on “Page.” On this track, he is devastated to have lost his lover and even more saddened by the feeling that he may never move on from this.
