Not open, throw a simple gesture
Catch em while they're listening
Oh oh oh, when your lost they're found
Make another round, make another good round.
Living lonely loving idols only losing in time
Kick it off with a frown and go to bed with a smile
Oh oh up but your gonna go down
Make another round, make another good round.

Fast forward, back to rock bottom
Get a grip on, gotta get it slowing down (gotta get it slowing down)

Another lover, make it on the double
A closed mind, no wonder your losing your touch
I see your little insomnia, its adding up
Give em up.

Can we dance, maybe now you get the picture
You should have seen me coming now you've seen it all before
Instigating intimate avoiding contemplation
You should have seen me coming, now we're all coming out.

Not open,
Leaving little room for improving on the falling of the ladies and the gentle movement
Of your heart when your blood stops flowing
Can I interrupt for a fictional novel or a written exam
Pick em out, put em down, put em all to the test
Inside your out.

Not open, not open
We're falling to our knees for the ladies and gentlemen.

Another lover, make it on the double
A closed mind, no wonder your losing your touch
I see your little insomnia, its adding up
Give em up.

Another lover, make it better, double it up
A third time's a charm, but it isn't enough
I see your little insomnia, its adding up
Give em up.

Don't close your eyes, easy to lose if your blind
They can't make it better even when the timing is right
Your glowing, maybe he could be your love at first sight
Open your eyes, open your eyes.

As for the idols, a craftsman will cast it
A goldsmith will overlay it with gold.

Haven't you heard?
Haven't you heard?

Fast forward, back to rock bottom
Get a grip on, gotta get it slowing down (gotta get it slowing down)

Another lover, make it on the double
A closed mind, no wonder your losing your touch
I see your little insomnia, its adding up
Give em up.

Another lover, make it better, double it up
A third time's a charm, but it isn't enough
I see your little insomnia, its adding up Give em up.

Searching in wrong places
Searching in wrong places
Way to keep you stranded leaving messages in bottles
Resting all faith in high hopes.

Searching in wrong places
Searching in wrong places
Way to keep you stranded leaving messages in bottles
Resting all faith in high hopes.

This is our life, this is our life
Your missing out, losing, blaming others for all your faults
This is our life, this is our life
If your never gonna change then you'll always get the same results.

Light Up The Sky
Van Halen
The song lyrics were written by the band Van Halen, as they were asked to write a song for the 1979 movie "Over the Edge" starring Matt Dillon. The movie (and the lyrics, although more obliquely) are about bored, rebellious youth with nothing better to do than get into trouble. If you see the movie, these lyrics will make more sense. It's a great movie if you grew up in the 70s/80s you'll definitely remember some of these characters from your own life. Fun fact, after writing the song, Van Halen decided not to let the movie use it.

Cajun Girl
Little Feat
Overall about difficult moments of disappointment and vulnerability. Having hope and longing, while remaining optimistic for the future. Encourages the belief that with each new morning there is a chance for things to improve. The chorus offers a glimmer of optimism and a chance at a resolution and redemption in the future. Captures the rollercoaster of emotions of feeling lost while loving someone who is not there for you, feeling let down and abandoned while waiting for a lover. Lost with no direction, "Now I'm up in the air with the rain in my hair, Nowhere to go, I can go anywhere" The bridge shows signs of longing and a plea for companionship. The Lyrics express a desire for authentic connection and the importance of Loving someone just as they are. "Just in passing, I'm not asking. That you be anyone but you”

Gentle Hour
Yo La Tengo
This song was originally written by a guy called Peter Gutteridge. He was one of the founders of the "Dunedin Sound" a musical scene in the south of New Zealand in the early 80s. From there it was covered by "The Clean" one of the early bands of that scene (he had originally been a member of in it's early days, writing a couple of their best early songs). The Dunedin sound, and the Clean became popular on american college radio in the mid to late 80s. I guess Yo La Tengo heard that version. Great version of a great song,
