What the fuck is my name

There's no shame in my game

I reached out to you

But all you could do turn away

I'm not goin away

I'm goin for self so fuck everyone else

Still the same

I'm lookin your way

You show me no love

Just because you're afraid

What happened to us

Dead to me

What about your life

What about your soul

You preached but didn't practice

Fuckin liar

Now you tried to turn that shit on me

That's fuckin bullshit

Talkin shit behind our backs you know that shit is whack

And I smell fear

(Chorus)

It's fuckin perfect

Perfect

Perfect

Perfect

Did you do it for you

Or did you do it for me

I look around I can't trust anyone that I see

And now your ears bleed

You get nothin from me

But the ground on the bottom you feed

You have nothin I need

Worthless and weak

Yet you march to the beat of this drum

Fair weather friend

Dead to me

I have no respect

For some jealous reject

You preached but didn't practice

Fuckin liar

Now you tried to turn that shit on me

That's fuckin bullshit

Talkin shit behind our backs you know that shit is whack

And I smell fear

It's fuckin perfect

Perfect

Perfect

Perfect

Perfect

We're back in full effect

Perfect

We're back in full effect

Perfect

We're back in full effect

Perfect

Dead to me

Dead to me

Dead

To

Me

What the fuck did you say

Still lookin my way

This is it now

You don't have to wait for the call

Was it worth it at all

The lies that you spread

Should have left you for dead

Now you're gone

Didn't take you that long

To dig your way out just to say

Was it worth it at all

No I won't drop the ball

Dead to me

Perfect

Perfect

Perfect

Perfect

Perfect

Perfect

Perfect

This is perfect

Light Up The Sky
Van Halen
The song lyrics were written by the band Van Halen, as they were asked to write a song for the 1979 movie "Over the Edge" starring Matt Dillon. The movie (and the lyrics, although more obliquely) are about bored, rebellious youth with nothing better to do than get into trouble. If you see the movie, these lyrics will make more sense. It's a great movie if you grew up in the 70s/80s you'll definitely remember some of these characters from your own life. Fun fact, after writing the song, Van Halen decided not to let the movie use it.

Standing On The Edge Of Summer
Thursday
In regards to the meaning of this song: Before a live performance on the EP Five Stories Falling, Geoff states “It’s about the last time I went to visit my grandmother in Columbus, and I saw that she was dying and it was the last time I was going to see her. It is about realizing how young you are, but how quickly you can go.” That’s the thing about Geoff and his sublime poetry, you think it’s about one thing, but really it’s about something entirely different. But the lyrics are still universal and omnipresent, ubiquitous, even. So relatable. That’s one thing I love about this band. I also love their live performances, raw energy and Geoff’s beautiful, imperfectly perfect vocals. His voice soothes my aching soul.

Magical
Ed Sheeran
How would you describe the feeling of being in love? For Ed Sheeran, the word is “Magical.” in HIS three-minute album opener, he makes an attempt to capture the beauty and delicacy of true love with words. He describes the magic of it all over a bright Pop song produced by Aaron Dessner.

Blue
Ed Sheeran
“Blue” is a song about a love that is persisting in the discomfort of the person experiencing the emotion. Ed Sheeran reflects on love lost, and although he wishes his former partner find happiness, he cannot but admit his feelings are still very much there. He expresses the realization that he might never find another on this stringed instrumental by Aaron Dessner.

Page
Ed Sheeran
There aren’t many things that’ll hurt more than giving love a chance against your better judgement only to have your heart crushed yet again. Ed Sheeran tells such a story on “Page.” On this track, he is devastated to have lost his lover and even more saddened by the feeling that he may never move on from this.
