Heartbreaker Lyrics

i heard she broke your heart again
so now you're gonna come and see me
we're back to the start again
when's she gonna set me free
i've been there time and time again
the girl's no good for me and you
she hurts me too

i heard she broke your heart again
i heard she broke your heart
well that girl's a heartbreaker

well now that girl may have friends in the business
and great qualities that i have yet to see
but in my eyes she's done us wrong
enough times for you to side with me

i heard she broke your heart again
i heard she broke your heart
well that girl's a heartbreaker

heartbreaker
i'll break her
heartbreaker
i'll break ya

i think he's talking to himself. like an internal conflict between his head and heart, between his more emotional side and more logical side.

"now you're gonna come and see me," meaning the heart (emotional side) is looking to the head (the logical side).

the head says, "she hurts me too," meaning despite logic in the situation, it's still upsetting.

Although this probably isn't the actual definition, this song reminds me of a situation I'm in- my best friend is in a relationship with a girl who's a total bitch, and he's been sort of neglecting me for her. We only get close again when she cheats on him or something, but he always goes running back to her. I really miss my friend and I hate her for treating him like shit when he's worth so much more than that.

So these lyrics fit pretty perfectly: "the girl's no good for me and you she hurts me too"

"but in my eyes she's done us wrong enough times for you to side with me"

spacexoddity I agree with you 100%. I am in the exact same situation and my best friend always comes to me when his girlfriend treats him badly. These lyrics make it seem as if this happens to the character in the song time and time again, meaning he's always there for his friend, and she's no good for the both of them because she's a bad girlfriend but she's also no good for the character because he's sick of seeing his friend like this. The moment I heard this song, I could totally relate to it.

And also he has yet to see her good qualities so how can he have been cheating with her? It seems like an excuse his friend gives as to why he's still with her. Also in the music video it seems like they're trying to cheer him up, like they usually do, i.e. back to the start again

I think that you're right. Especially the bit where he goes "but in my eyes she's done US wrong"

I think it's obvious that the singer is gay, his best friend is bi and has an on again off again girlfriend. The singer and his friend have been romantic in the past but the friend won't commit. The singer is voicing his frustration with the friend's choice to dump him and go back to the girl whenever she decides she wants him back

It's simple, they are friends but one of them loves a girl, who is a whore with him, and the other guy (joseph) always supports him, but he knows the girl is a bitch and he doesn't like to see his buddy crying.

I think that "friends in the business" means that, actually, the girl is a prostitute :)

No comments? Lyrics are kind of simple, but I like the way they're sung, it gives them a kind of psychotic feel, especially at the end - " I'll break her" (not 'ya'). In some parts of the song it sounds as though there's some kind of underlying message (in the music), as if he's not just cheering his mate up, but also angry at the girl for doing the dirty previously on himself, in a much worse way. Definately not a simple song.

maybe its like, he is seeing his friends girlfriend behind his back?

"i've been there time and time again the girl's no good for me and you" this could be like "ive been there to support you" but also like "ive been there with her to hurt you everytime"

but maybe not, because; "but in my eyes she's done us wrong enough times for you to side with me" is like he's been sayin all along shes no good, they've obviously fought about it, and now that hes been hurt this much he'll take his friends advice.

anyone know who the "friends in the business" are? maybe shes trying to sleep her way to the top!?

"friends in the business" are connections to the music industry?

i think this song is about a guy who has previously being in a love triangle and suffered from the situation. Now the situation is repeating ("back to the start again")as a girl, who already is in a relationship, is trying to flirt with him. He kind of likes her, cause she is attractive and has friends in the business but he knows she is no good for him or the other guy. Even though he knows she is tempting as she seem to have good qualities then he doesn't trust her as she she will be breaking both guys hearts. So, he is deciding to say no to her and side with her boyfriend to break her heart instead.

i would have gone for it if i was him. she might have been the girl of his life!!

My Interpretation

Well, I think it's pretty clear it's about two gents and a girl who flips back and fourth between the two of them. Anyways, she breaks their hearts continuously and finally she breaks the one's heart for the last time and they pledge a united front to not fall for her feminine wiles any longer! Refer to: "but in my eyes she's done us wrong enough times for you to side with me"

It's always nice when people abide by "bros b4 hoes".
