Like I've said before... this site should be called "come and judge the bands place" not songmeaning, nobody cares about the lyrics of the song...oh well...anyway.. This song is obvious, it's about the end of a relationship... almost always a sad thing. I love the way he refers to her as his "rose", I'm a girl but the rose to me means "my love" haha. It's a sad song but also a "moving forward" song. It's very hard not to look back sometimes but when they give you no options then it's best to just let things be. I think that's what this song is about. And the "broken wings" part...Well, we all feel that way after it's over. And sometimes it feels like you can't fly again. But we all do someday.

hmm i am a fan of chris's work but.. it does seem like he's selling out with his new stuff but he's an artist and im not so he can do woteva the fuk he likes and hes dam talented so itd be good. dnt sound too bad for hip/hop/pop or woteva ya call it
hmm it's not bad. def got an interesting sound to it. I respect Chris Cornell exploring different genres of music. Regardless of what he does, he is one freakin talented individual.
I admit the new sound is well, new. Very talented, that is true. He is expanding himself no doubt. There is a song however in the album called Two Drink Minimum, its awesome. Bluesy. I like this one though. Its sad yet relatively happy. He seems to be over someone, yet wishes not to be over. I'm not sure.

rather an ambivalent song about breaking up ... but how do you fly away.. when your wing (free spirt) is already broken by someone you thought you needed .. ah.. she's the one that left you is how.. or is it? rather ironic imo
