The state of the nation, violation!
A broken promise is as good as a lie
The hell is humongous, the devil's among us
And we will burn because we won't unite!

We won't witness anymore freedom.
Where is anybody? do we need 'em?
I would rather fight,
Than let another die.
We're the problem,
But we're also the solution
All hope is gone!

If you want you cannot take it from me
If you think you can, you still don't know me
Let me tell you, when I said it, I meant it
And I will always have the right to defend it

Fifty seconds, a hundred murders
The bill of rights is a bill of sale.
What will you do when the war is over?
What will you do when your systems fail!?

We have made the present obsolete.
What do you want?
What do you need?
We'll find a way,
When all hope is gone!
We've seen the fall of the elite.
Bury your life,
Take your disease.
We'll end the world,
When all hope is gone!

We have made the present obsolete
What do you want?
What do you need?
We'll find a way
When all hope is gone
We've seen the fall of the elite
Bury your life
Take your disease
We'll end the world
When all hope is gone

The wretched are the wounded
The hungry starved to death
At a place where no-one goes
The air itself is a final breathe
So discontinue
The antiseptic cash charade
As the cry of justice comes
Our malignant fire fades

I am the reason your future suffers
I am the hatred you won't embrace
I am the worm of a pure distinction
I am the remedy, spit in my face
All your lies and wars are out-dated
All your subjects are dulling mind games
I can rattle off a million other reasons why
But doesn't matter when the only thing we love will die

We have made the present obsolete
What do you want?
What do you need?
We'll find a way
When all hope is gone
We've seen the fall of the elite
Bury your life,
Take your disease
We'll end the world,
When all hope is gone

We have made the present obsolete
What do you want?
What do you need?
We'll find a way,
When all hope is gone
We've seen the fall of the elite
Bury your life,
Take your disease
We'll end the world
When all hope is gone

This is my thoughts and feelings toward this song. I love slipknot. Im so glad for the alubm… I just want to know if its going to be great.

“The state of the nation - violation! A broken promise is as good as a lie. The hell is humongous, the Devil's among us And we will burn because we won't unite!”

This world is shit. Everyone thinks they are right. and everyone runs in there own directions.

from a christian ideas -< The devils grip on this world is strong then ever before. corrupting every soul along the way. I see the fall of america happening in 10-20 years. i believe it will happen. the economy. the greed. the selfishness.

"We won't witness anymore freedom. What does anybody do we need 'em? I would rather fight, than let another die. We're the problem, but we're also the solution."

Past generations have figured out all in the ins and outs to all the coolest things. and have decided some things are bad. they put rules down. then more laws are created around those rules. slowly we have boxed ourselfs in these little 2x2 square boxes afraid to live. Us ignorant young-ins need to learn from our mistakes not theres. and if we try, we break about 4 laws just trying to live freely. we are a dead generation with nothing to do. "we have no great depression, no great wars. our biggest depression is our lives.." -taylor durden

we are a cancer to this world. we are the worst fucking thing on this planet. but we are the only ones to do anything about it. Wall-e said this message in recent movies.

“If you want you cannot take it from me. If you think you can, you still don't know me. Let me tell you, when I said it, I meant it And I will always have the right to defend it.”

We all decided we want to live! fuck your rules. fuck your ideas. i have my own. and i want to live it. we all say. but someday we all do comform a bit to the rules and regulates around us. but what we said we meant it! and if you cross us we will defend it! fuck you all!

“Fifty seconds, a hundred murders. The bill of rights is a bill of sale. What will you do when the war is over? What will you do when your system fails!?”

America was built on war. We’ve never not had war. We don’t know how to live without war. What do we do? Nothing?! Ok.. so we make products. And scam others out of business. WHY! Fuckin a. why cant we all live together as one? I don’t know. I fuckin hate people and there ideas.

“I am the reason your future suffers. I am the hatred you won't embrace. I am the worm of a pure distinction. I am the remedy, spit in my face! All your lies and wars are out-dated. All your subjects are dulling mind games. I can let all of another million reasons why, But doesn't matter when the only thing will never die!”

Best lines in song. To me. These ideals started in America because of drugs. China (in the new Olympics) have also shown that they want these ideals. Our generation is tired and doesn’t understand the meaning of fighting anymore. Videogames are good enough. we our the cure to this planets, the dreamers I mean. We have figured out all the tactics and mind fucks they do to us all to get us to do there bidding. Fighting each other has lost its fun. Now its point, click, boom. Hundreds gone. Used to be; One on One. Respect and honor. Now, nothingness. PTSD! Mind fucks! The country brainwashes us to think some way for us to do what they want. But most people say fuck that.

THERE ARE A MILLION REASONS WHY WE NEED TO WORK TOGETHER IN THIS WORLD! But nothing matters when we will die in the end. So fuck it… I don’t care.

These are my ideas. My feelings. My beliefs. If you don’t like them, I don’t care. If you agree. Pat ourself on the back because no one cares. You are alone in the world. Because we cant seem to gather together. We are afraid of each other.. One last thing I truthfully believe in. STRONGLY>… "Fuck it all! fuck this world! Fuck everything that you stand for! Dont belong! dont exist! Dont give a shit! Dont ever judge me!"

DONT YOU EVER FUCKING JUDGE ME!

the second line is about him the rest maynot be but "a broken promise is as good as a lie" Matthew 24. You may not understand what i'm doing now but someday you will John 17 I mean if he had got a girlfriend not fucked her and got married he would've been one sick puppy for the rest of his life. Allah works in mysterious ways and would he of ever given a shit enough to save the planet or serve 2 and a half terms as president then get persecuted and die in prison "I" think not but Cora Claire and Harper are worth it even he never gets to see them again which he wont since his brother is such an asshole drug pusher but then again ":I" believe even hes extorted

I don't think it says freedom a second time, I definetly hear "do we need'em" and I think it says "50 seconds, 100 murders".

This song just seems to be a general statement of the nation of the past few years and if we don't try to unite to do something all hope is gone..

THIS MADE ME WANT TO BUY THE ALBUM JUST TO BURN IT. I fucking love slipknot, but what the hell happened here? the lyrics are practically the same as surfacing, but changed round a bit. It made me die a little inside. :(

Standing On The Edge Of Summer
Thursday
In regards to the meaning of this song: Before a live performance on the EP Five Stories Falling, Geoff states “It’s about the last time I went to visit my grandmother in Columbus, and I saw that she was dying and it was the last time I was going to see her. It is about realizing how young you are, but how quickly you can go.” That’s the thing about Geoff and his sublime poetry, you think it’s about one thing, but really it’s about something entirely different. But the lyrics are still universal and omnipresent, ubiquitous, even. So relatable. That’s one thing I love about this band. I also love their live performances, raw energy and Geoff’s beautiful, imperfectly perfect vocals. His voice soothes my aching soul.

Son Şansın - Şarkı Sözleri
Hayalperest
This song seemingly tackles the methods of deception those who manipulate others use to get victims to follow their demands, as well as diverting attention away from important issues. They'll also use it as a means to convince people to hate or kill others by pretending acts of terrorism were committed by the enemy when the acts themselves were done by the masters of control to promote discrimination and hate. It also reinforces the idea that these manipulative forces operate in various locations, infiltrating everyday life without detection, and propagate any and everywhere. In general, it highlights the danger of hidden agendas, manipulation, and distraction, serving as a critique of those who exploit chaos and confusion to control and gain power, depicting a cautionary tale against falling into their traps. It encourages us to question the narratives presented to us and remain vigilant against manipulation in various parts of society.

I think much like another song “Anti-Matter” (that's also on the same album as this song), this one is also is inspired by a horrifying van crash the band experienced on Nov 3, 2022. This, much like the other track, sounds like it's an extension what they shared while huddled in the wreckage, as they helped frontman Garrett Russell stem the bleeding from his head wound while he was under the temporary effects of a concussion. The track speaks of where the mind goes at the most desperate & desolate of times, when it just about slips away to all but disconnect itself, and the aftermath.

Mountain Song
Jane's Addiction
Jane's Addiction vocalist Perry Farrell gives Adam Reader some heartfelt insight into Jane’s Addiction's hard rock manifesto "Mountain Song", which was the second single from their revolutionary album Nothing's Shocking. Mountain song was first recorded in 1986 and appeared on the soundtrack to the film Dudes starring Jon Cryer. The version on Nothing's Shocking was re-recorded in 1988. "'Mountain Song' was actually about... I hate to say it but... drugs. Climbing this mountain and getting as high as you can, and then coming down that mountain," reveals Farrell. "What it feels to descend from the mountain top... not easy at all. The ascension is tough but exhilarating. Getting down is... it's a real bummer. Drugs is not for everybody obviously. For me, I wanted to experience the heights, and the lows come along with it." "There's a part - 'Cash in now honey, cash in Miss Smith.' Miss Smith is my Mother; our last name was Smith. Cashing in when she cashed in her life. So... she decided that, to her... at that time, she was desperate. Life wasn't worth it for her, that was her opinion. Some people think, never take your life, and some people find that their life isn't worth living. She was in love with my Dad, and my Dad was not faithful to her, and it broke her heart. She was very desperate and she did something that I know she regrets."

I Can't Go To Sleep
Wu-Tang Clan
This song is written as the perspective of the boys in the street, as a whole, and what path they are going to choose as they get older and grow into men. (This is why the music video takes place in an orphanage.) The seen, and unseen collective suffering is imbedded in the boys’ mind, consciously or subconsciously, and is haunting them. Which path will the boys choose? Issac Hayes is the voice of reason, maybe God, the angel on his shoulder, or the voice of his forefathers from beyond the grave who can see the big picture and are pleading with the boys not to continue the violence and pattern of killing their brothers, but to rise above. The most beautiful song and has so many levels. Racism towards African Americans in America would not exist if everyone sat down and listened to this song and understood the history behind the words. The power, fear, pleading in RZA and Ghostface voices are genuine and powerful. Issac Hayes’ strong voice makes the perfect strong father figure, who is possibly from beyond the grave.
