These are the eyes and the lies of the taken
These are their hearts but their hearts don't beat like ours
They burn 'cause they are all afraid
For every one of us, there's an army of them
But you'll never fight alone
'Cause I wanted you to know

That the world is ugly
But you're beautiful to me
Well are you thinking of me now (now)

These are the nights and the lights that we fade in
These are the words but the words aren't coming out
They burn 'cause they are hard to say
For every failing sun, there's a morning after
Though I'm empty when you go
I just wanted you to know

That the world is ugly
But you're beautiful to me
Are you thinking of me
Like I'm thinking of you
I would say I'm sorry, though
Though I really need to go
I just wanted you to know

I wanted you to know
I wanted you to know
I'm thinking of you every night, every day

These are the eyes and the lies of the taken
These are their hearts but their hearts don't beat like ours
They burn 'cause they are all afraid
When mine beats twice as hard

'Cause the world is ugly
But you're beautiful to me
Are you thinking of me
Like I'm thinking of you
I would say I'm sorry, though
Though I really need to go
I just wanted you to know
That the world is ugly (I just wanted you to know)
But you're beautiful to me (I just wanted you to know)
Are you thinking of me

Stop your crying, helpless feeling
Dry your eyes and start believing
There's one thing they'll never take from you

(One day, like this, we'll never be the same)
(Like ghosts in the snow)
(Like ghosts in the sun)

i cant believe no ones commented (i know everyone says that) but yeah. This song is really beautiful and sad at the same time.

I really love this band i know the 2 songs on youtube Stay and The World Is Ugly. I love them both but i hope that their new album (not the black parade is dead) isnt going to be all like this because i love that they can be like this and also adress other things. But i realize that they may sound a lot different because they are putting James Dewees(is that how u spell it) as keyboardest.

I dont know anything about the guy but all im saying is 6 is a lot for 1 band ... but then again 6 is my favorite # O_o

Okay, Hide From The Sun, you are a total failure. They're not "selling out". They're not writing what they're writing because they think it's what people want to hear, and they certainly don't only fit the "emo" label. They write what they write because it means something to them. They put their hearts in it so that others can feel something from it too, and that's something they can never be faulted for. They have always been honest in everything.

eyeroll MCR are not selling out, people. Please... just because they're popular doesn't mean they don't deserve it or that they don't put everything they have into their music... because they do.

There are FIVE people in MCR: Bob, Frank, Gerard, Mikey, and Ray.

...My Chemical Romance? Sounding like a boy band? Wow... that almost made me laugh.

And to XxforgottenonexX: There are versions on YouTube with pretty crappy sound, but... they still work. ...and... it's Mikey, hun. Not Mickey. Mikey. Maybe it's just a spelling error you made on accident, but... shrugs. Just so you know.

This song is absolutely beautiful. I'm not exactly sure of the meaning yet; there are so many versions of the lyrics, it's kind of hard to keep track.

One thing clear: MCR ARE NOT SELLOUTS! sellouts are when they write about strippers, making out and dancing for people who like to hear about it cuz it's "cool" and they do it for big money and dont care about their fans. MCR loves their fans, writes how their feeling and sure they do it for money, but that's not all they care about!

I think this is a song about 2 people knowing eachother for a long time, and eventually they both start to fall in love even though the guy has liked the girl forever. But then a new guy walks into the picture and takes the girls away, leaving the old guy heartbroken, and he keeps trying to be with the girl, and she demands he leaves, so he goes away, telling her he knows he's not worthy. In the end , she regrets her decision i think, and hes like "Well YOU wanted me to go" and doesnt take her back.

Light Up The Sky
Van Halen
The song lyrics were written by the band Van Halen, as they were asked to write a song for the 1979 movie "Over the Edge" starring Matt Dillon. The movie (and the lyrics, although more obliquely) are about bored, rebellious youth with nothing better to do than get into trouble. If you see the movie, these lyrics will make more sense. It's a great movie if you grew up in the 70s/80s you'll definitely remember some of these characters from your own life. Fun fact, after writing the song, Van Halen decided not to let the movie use it.

Cajun Girl
Little Feat
Overall about difficult moments of disappointment and vulnerability. Having hope and longing, while remaining optimistic for the future. Encourages the belief that with each new morning there is a chance for things to improve. The chorus offers a glimmer of optimism and a chance at a resolution and redemption in the future. Captures the rollercoaster of emotions of feeling lost while loving someone who is not there for you, feeling let down and abandoned while waiting for a lover. Lost with no direction, "Now I'm up in the air with the rain in my hair, Nowhere to go, I can go anywhere" The bridge shows signs of longing and a plea for companionship. The Lyrics express a desire for authentic connection and the importance of Loving someone just as they are. "Just in passing, I'm not asking. That you be anyone but you”

Mountain Song
Jane's Addiction
Jane's Addiction vocalist Perry Farrell gives Adam Reader some heartfelt insight into Jane’s Addiction's hard rock manifesto "Mountain Song", which was the second single from their revolutionary album Nothing's Shocking. Mountain song was first recorded in 1986 and appeared on the soundtrack to the film Dudes starring Jon Cryer. The version on Nothing's Shocking was re-recorded in 1988. "'Mountain Song' was actually about... I hate to say it but... drugs. Climbing this mountain and getting as high as you can, and then coming down that mountain," reveals Farrell. "What it feels to descend from the mountain top... not easy at all. The ascension is tough but exhilarating. Getting down is... it's a real bummer. Drugs is not for everybody obviously. For me, I wanted to experience the heights, and the lows come along with it." "There's a part - 'Cash in now honey, cash in Miss Smith.' Miss Smith is my Mother; our last name was Smith. Cashing in when she cashed in her life. So... she decided that, to her... at that time, she was desperate. Life wasn't worth it for her, that was her opinion. Some people think, never take your life, and some people find that their life isn't worth living. She was in love with my Dad, and my Dad was not faithful to her, and it broke her heart. She was very desperate and she did something that I know she regrets."
