This is one of my favorite songs. https://fnfgo.io
þú hatta fjúka lætur í loft
þú regnhlíf snú á hvolf allt of oft
ó nei, ég sé, ó
þú þök að fjúka út á brot sjó
þú hári strjúka faldinum sló
óhræsisstrákur
þú
(Lalalala, lalalala, lalalala, lalalala)
Vindur í hárinu-úú
Vindur í hárinu-úú
Vindur í hárinu-úú
Vindur í
(Lalalala, lalalala, lalalala)
þú augu fjúka í sand tárast
þú tyggigúm í hendir hár fast
óhræsisstrákur
þú
(Lalalala, lalalala, lalalala, lalalala)
Vindur í hárinu-úú

I think much like another song “Anti-Matter” (that's also on the same album as this song), this one is also is inspired by a horrifying van crash the band experienced on Nov 3, 2022. This, much like the other track, sounds like it's an extension what they shared while huddled in the wreckage, as they helped frontman Garrett Russell stem the bleeding from his head wound while he was under the temporary effects of a concussion. The track speaks of where the mind goes at the most desperate & desolate of times, when it just about slips away to all but disconnect itself, and the aftermath.
Gentle Hour
Yo La Tengo
Yo La Tengo
This song was originally written by a guy called Peter Gutteridge. He was one of the founders of the "Dunedin Sound" a musical scene in the south of New Zealand in the early 80s. From there it was covered by "The Clean" one of the early bands of that scene (he had originally been a member of in it's early days, writing a couple of their best early songs). The Dunedin sound, and the Clean became popular on american college radio in the mid to late 80s. I guess Yo La Tengo heard that version.
Great version of a great song,
Punchline
Ed Sheeran
Ed Sheeran
Ed Sheeran sings about missing his former partner and learning important life lessons in the process on “Punchline.” This track tells a story of battling to get rid of emotions for a former lover, whom he now realized might not have loved him the same way. He’s now caught between accepting that fact and learning life lessons from it and going back to beg her for another chance.
American Town
Ed Sheeran
Ed Sheeran
Ed Sheeran shares a short story of reconnecting with an old flame on “American Town.” The track is about a holiday Ed Sheeran spends with his countrywoman who resides in America. The two are back together after a long period apart, and get around to enjoying a bunch of fun activities while rekindling the flames of their romance.
finally, the official lyrics to this song have been made available along with an English translation. it's all gobbledygook of course:
You hats make fly into the air You turn umbrellas inside out too often oh no, don't - oh
You roofs blow out into the stormy sea You hair stroke and hem blowing Prankster boy
You (Lalalala lalalala : Lalalala lalalala) Wind in hair - ooh ooh Wind in hair - ooh ooh Wind in hair - ooh ooh Wind in... (Lalalala lalalala : Lalalala)
Your eyes blow sand, tears You gum throw in hair stuck Prankster boy
You (Lalalala lalalala : Lalalala lalalala) Wind in hair - ooh ooh Wind in hair - ooh ooh Wind in hair - ooh ooh Wind in.... (Lalalala lalalala : Lalalala)
Lalala lai lalala : Lalala lai lalala Lalala lai lalala : Lalala lai lalala Lalala lai lalala : Lalala lai
(Lalalala lalalala : Lalalala) (Lalalala lalalala : Lalalala)
Lalalala lalalala : Lalalala lalalala Lalalala lalalala : Lalalala lalalala Lalalala lalalala : Lala lalalala
wicked! thanks for the translation! As someone who's in love with the Icelandic language and yet has barely any means of learning it, I resort to Sigur Ros lyrics...

It was nice to discover that this song actually fits to the video I made about my trip there :D This boy they sing about could well be the spirit of Iceland: playfull, free but sometimes a bit harsh...
Icelandic Animal Collective! I knew this song sounded vaguely familiar. It's pretty different from their usual stuff, but I love it!
if anything, animal collective sounds like americanized and dummed down sigur ros, but it's stupid to compare the two. they both just happen to use toms, falsetto, and things like "lalala" and "ooooh".
great upbeat song with an awesome video with the same sense of innocence sigur ros love, but with an added element of pure fun - perfect just in time for summer!
Has anyone seen the music video for this song? Just asking...
Nakedness!!!
Nastyness
It's only nastiness if you're immature and cannot handle it...

Beautiful video!
you are that which blows away in the sky? you umbrella always off?
i think thats the first line or 2 or something along these lines... ill try to translate this later

Kinda feels like an Icelandic Animal Collective song.
I'm not complaining.
i second this wholeheartedly.

also not complaining.
@phantompenguin
@courtneyamazing

Who's complaining, dummkopfs?

Just a regular comment with a comparison.
Enjoy the beautiful Icelandic song that reminds you of something you like!
Vendur í hárinu i think means "wind in (our/your) hair" thats me guessing from a line in Hoppípolla about hair...
Whatsss this language? Icelandic?? idk, i'm not smart enough to know. Great song, though. The beats are great!
This is in icelandic. It's a weird misconception that they make up all the words they use...only the song "Hope" and all of ( ) are in hopelandic fully. The rest of their songs have some hopelandic parts, but are mostly in standard icelandic...except their newest closes with "all alright" which is sung in English.
apparently they felt compelled to write this after watching the eurovision song contest. would love to know what the lyrics translate as
