Darling will you marry me?
Oh yes my love, I will

Been going with this girl for a year or two
Family they don't want me to
It's their family way
They think that I am lazy
And they tell her that she's crazy
Family way

They went to the judge to forbid us to get wed
And now on the whole, I'd say there's trouble ahead
She's in the family way

I know I love your daughter, sir
Don't you think the choice should be made by her?
Family way
They believe in long engagements
Time to make arrangements
Family way

All we want is a life of our own
But we'll never get it now, not the way she has grown
She's in the family way

Doctor, doctor, are you absolutely sure?
When you tell us there's under eight months more
Before the stork comes knocking at the door

Soon it's gonna be too late
They'll notice that she's put on weight
In the family way
Then they'll put her on a diet
When all she needs is peace and quiet
Family way

All we want is a life of our own
But we'll never get it now, not the way she has grown
She's in the family way

Sir, I think your daughter and I should be married
Soon, very, very soon!

Standing On The Edge Of Summer
Thursday
In regards to the meaning of this song: Before a live performance on the EP Five Stories Falling, Geoff states “It’s about the last time I went to visit my grandmother in Columbus, and I saw that she was dying and it was the last time I was going to see her. It is about realizing how young you are, but how quickly you can go.” That’s the thing about Geoff and his sublime poetry, you think it’s about one thing, but really it’s about something entirely different. But the lyrics are still universal and omnipresent, ubiquitous, even. So relatable. That’s one thing I love about this band. I also love their live performances, raw energy and Geoff’s beautiful, imperfectly perfect vocals. His voice soothes my aching soul.

This is about bronies. They communicate by stomping.

Gentle Hour
Yo La Tengo
This song was originally written by a guy called Peter Gutteridge. He was one of the founders of the "Dunedin Sound" a musical scene in the south of New Zealand in the early 80s. From there it was covered by "The Clean" one of the early bands of that scene (he had originally been a member of in it's early days, writing a couple of their best early songs). The Dunedin sound, and the Clean became popular on american college radio in the mid to late 80s. I guess Yo La Tengo heard that version. Great version of a great song,

Amazing
Ed Sheeran
Ed Sheeran tells a story of unsuccessfully trying to feel “Amazing.” This track is about the being weighed down by emotional stress despite valiant attempts to find some positivity in the situation. This track was written by Ed Sheeran from the perspective of his friend. From the track, we see this person fall deeper into the negative thoughts and slide further down the path of mental torment with every lyric.
