So Fast Lyrics
She still don't understand…
The measures a man can go,
Oh, bless her soul. *
But what happens when the rivers dries?
It leaves you dying inside
But it’s not her fault, but she can’t go on
Thinking there’s something she could have done,
That she could have done
Why were we, why were we so unkind?
And now there’s no words to say that will ever change
The way you took your life... with the slip of a finger.
The enemy so many times escaped
But it’s not his fault but he
No he can’t go on thinking
Things could have been different
if he'd have held his tongue
Why were we, why were we so unkind?
And now there’s no words to say that will ever change the way you went
The way you left this world
Why were we so unkind?
And now there’s no words to say that will ever change
The way you took your life… with the slip of a finger.

this song was written by jason on the night before his birthday, right after he found out a girl he was close to in high school had committed suicide. he said it was written all in one night and just came straight from the emotion he was feeling and his heart.

I figured it was about someone committing suicide, too. My heart goes out to that girl and her family. Poor Jason...

It is obviously about suicide, and to be honest I listened to this song for hours on May 9 when my friend committed suicide. The "why were we so unkind" part might spring from the fact the girl may have been bullied, or maybe he got in a fight with her one day. Who knows. Sensitive subject, but wonderfully written with powerful words and very emotional so it tugs on the strings of our hearts.
I deeply feel the same pain, but in the end we're all going to where these people who've died have gone.. they just went before us. Deepest sympathies go out to the family and those who are effected by it.
Beautiful song.
