Hey Hey Revolver Lyrics
Hire me on better grounds
I can't afford no gas
I walk to work on the overpass
My teenage daughter's knocked up
Well jeanie this time you really fucked up
You aughtta be in the hospital
But I can't afford to go, the bill
Don't lead me on
Your shiny barrel
Is long and narrow
Hey hey Revolver
I walk the line into Hudson town
The blue burger king billboard signs Remind me of her mother's eyes
She ran off to be a T.V. star
I hope she found what she was lookin for
I promised Jeanie she'd see L.A.
If I ever made some cash someday
Don't lead me on
Your shiny barrel
Is long and narrow
Hey hey Revolver

This song sounds kind of suicidal to me. He's reflecting on his life, while sitting with a revolver. Any thoughts?
I agree with you that we have a desperate man with a gun. I don't think he's going to use it on himself. I think he's on his way to hold up a business.

That doesn't sound like a man about to kill himself. It sounds like a father about to do something questionable to give his kid the chance at a better life.

That was my interpretation.
At least it was until I saw them on their last tour, and he introduced it as a song about armed robbery! Guess not then. I think I prefer the suicide theory though!

I LOVE when he says LA.
