Consume the curse
That brings you down
A fading liar who wakes up alone

It's there in front of you

Invert this tragedy to come
And reclaim your future
This is a call to arms
One quest at a time

Feed the hunger
Climb on up
Repress the negative
You are not alone

It's there in front of you

Invert this tragedy to come
And reclaim your future
This is a call to arms
One quest at a time

Avoid the mould
Desperate you regress
Move through me
I'll be your triumph

Invert this tragedy to come
And reclaim your future
This is a call to arms
One quest at a time

"a call to arms" is an expression. Usually means 'a call to battle or war'. To me it sounds like he's singing to someone who is in a bad state of mind. Either depressed or just has a lot of negativity, possibly looking to commit suicide. He's telling them they can change their ways and get out of the rut they're in if they battle back and "invert this tragedy to come" (could be a suicide reference).

"Move through me, I'll be your triumph" He's saying that he'll be there to help this person along in their battle.

That's my take on it anyway. I love this song and the rest of the album. In Flames \m/

I think there's A LOT of reference to World of Warcraft.

Call to arms is a quest name.... which can be done one at a time.

"its right there in front of you" ... there's a comic about it, because some of the quests are really easy, and you just feel like saying "BUT ITS RIGHT THERE!" ....

"consume the curse" - there's a move called remove curse. OR .. it could be in reference to the undead racial ability 'cannibalism'.

Fantastic solo-part in this song! About text, almost everything seems to be right, in my opinion. But some parts I here in the other way. For example, I don't hear phrase "you've decided to come", it seems to be "you want this tragedy to come", but this is how I hear it, i could be wrong too.

I'm not gonna ponder about this song's meaning before I get the lyrics straight. As far as I can see, no website has the right lyrics yet, since the first line in the chorus definitely isn't "you've decided to come". It sounds like "They want this tragedy to come" to me. At the moment I'm listening it through over and over. Oh, and the last line in the chorus is "One quest at a time", not "Unrequested this time".

Anders said: "I meet a lot of people where everything seems to go badly for them. They have a lot of really ****ed up things that seem to happen in their life, so its about reaching out and trying to help someone move away from that. It's really heavy and has a stomping almost industrial chorus."

I think much like another song “Anti-Matter” (that's also on the same album as this song), this one is also is inspired by a horrifying van crash the band experienced on Nov 3, 2022. This, much like the other track, sounds like it's an extension what they shared while huddled in the wreckage, as they helped frontman Garrett Russell stem the bleeding from his head wound while he was under the temporary effects of a concussion. The track speaks of where the mind goes at the most desperate & desolate of times, when it just about slips away to all but disconnect itself, and the aftermath.

Mountain Song
Jane's Addiction
Jane's Addiction vocalist Perry Farrell gives Adam Reader some heartfelt insight into Jane’s Addiction's hard rock manifesto "Mountain Song", which was the second single from their revolutionary album Nothing's Shocking. Mountain song was first recorded in 1986 and appeared on the soundtrack to the film Dudes starring Jon Cryer. The version on Nothing's Shocking was re-recorded in 1988. "'Mountain Song' was actually about... I hate to say it but... drugs. Climbing this mountain and getting as high as you can, and then coming down that mountain," reveals Farrell. "What it feels to descend from the mountain top... not easy at all. The ascension is tough but exhilarating. Getting down is... it's a real bummer. Drugs is not for everybody obviously. For me, I wanted to experience the heights, and the lows come along with it." "There's a part - 'Cash in now honey, cash in Miss Smith.' Miss Smith is my Mother; our last name was Smith. Cashing in when she cashed in her life. So... she decided that, to her... at that time, she was desperate. Life wasn't worth it for her, that was her opinion. Some people think, never take your life, and some people find that their life isn't worth living. She was in love with my Dad, and my Dad was not faithful to her, and it broke her heart. She was very desperate and she did something that I know she regrets."

There aren’t many things that’ll hurt more than giving love a chance against your better judgement only to have your heart crushed yet again. Ed Sheeran tells such a story on “Page.” On this track, he is devastated to have lost his lover and even more saddened by the feeling that he may never move on from this.
