Oh, little did she know
Couldn't let me go
Already a part of her
So, often do I need
People in between
That just can't get a hold of it

So we'll just sing it for them
Ahh, yeah, we'll just sing it for them
(Just can't get a hold of it)
So we'll just sing it for them
Ahh, yeah, we'll just sing it

It's the greatest thing that's yet to have happened
Imagine knowing me
It's the greatest thing you'd ever imagine
But you'll never know until you're there
No, you'll never know until you're there

Slow, leave walking to the world
Give your feet a chance
They'll do all the thinking
Toast high until they find
Less pathetic wine
Until they get a better blend

Then we'll just drink it for them
Ahh, yeah we'll just drink it for them
('Til they get a better blend)
So we'll just drink it for them
Ahh, yeah we'll just drink it

It's the greatest thing that's yet to have happened
Imagine knowing me
It's the greatest thing you'd ever imagine
But you'll never know until you're there
No, you'll never know until you're there

It's the greatest thing that's yet to have happened
Imagine knowing me
It's the greatest thing you'd ever imagine
But you'll never know until you're there
No, you'll never know until you're there

No, you'll never know until you're there

    My Interpretation

FOR ME, THIS SONG SOUNDED LIKE THEY ARE GOING TO GET MARRIED.

"So often do I meet People in between, That just can't get a hold of it"

--> Most of their friends just can't believe that they will finally tie the knot.

"It's the greatest thing that's yet to have happened Imagine knowing me"

--> The singer/speaker is just announcing that there will be a wedding and he knows his friends couldn't believe it knowing the character and attitude he has maybe towards relationships.

"It's the greatest thing you'd ever imagine But you'll never know until you're there No, you'll never know until you're there"

--> It's like saying "You will never know the feeling of being truly in love and deciding to spend the rest of your life with that someone unless you get there youself."

"Slow, leave walking to the world Give your feet a chance They'll do all the thinking"

--> This is like "Walking along the aisle". He's just saying that she doesn't need to worry and she can just let go.

"Toast high until they find Less pathetic wine, Until they get a better blend"

--> They can totally celebrate their relationship without worrying other people's opinions because eventually, when people realize how good they are together, they can finally accept their union.

Well yeah, for me this is the meaning of this song and I don't think the title has to do with the lyrics. :)

I think this song is about falling in love. That's the "it", I imagine. He's saying don't think about it, just let your feelings wash over you. The "toast high" part makes me think of the people who search for that old-fashioned, cookie-cutter love and end up with a bad match. They settle for something pathetic until they find what they're looking for because they're too afraid of being alone. So I think he's like, in the meantime, we'll just drink it for them and have as much fun as possible. Chorus: Imagine, someone like me, finding someone that fits me so well! you hear it being talked about, but you never know how awesome love is until you're there.

All my interpretation, obviously. i love this song.

I'm not fluent or anything, but in French doesn't 'Pas De Cheval' mean 'not some horse'? Or something similar to that? WTF? xDD Can someone please explain what the hell the title is supposed to mean?

Pas De Cheval is like this ballet move when you hop on one foot and paw the ground with the other foot or something lol. During that contest thing, I think they had pictures of cats or something.

Holiday

@[Diderik:33655] "Your a holiday!" Was a popular term used in the 50s/60s to compliment someone on their all around. For example, not only are they beautiful, but they are fun and kind too ... just an all around "holiday". I think your first comment is closer to being accurate. The singer/song writers state "Millions of eyes can see, yet why am i so blind!? When the someone else is me, its unkind its unkind". I believe hes referring to the girl toying with him and using him. He wants something deeper with her, thats why he allows himself to be as a puppet (even though for her fun and games) as long as it makes her happy. But he knows deep down that she doesnt really want to be serious with him and thats what makes him.

Ed Sheeran
How would you describe the feeling of being in love? For Ed Sheeran, the word is “Magical.” in HIS three-minute album opener, he makes an attempt to capture the beauty and delicacy of true love with words. He describes the magic of it all over a bright Pop song produced by Aaron Dessner.

Plastic Bag
Ed Sheeran
“Plastic Bag” is a song about searching for an escape from personal problems and hoping to find it in the lively atmosphere of a Saturday night party. Ed Sheeran tells the story of his friend and the myriad of troubles he is going through. Unable to find any solutions, this friend seeks a last resort in a party and the vanity that comes with it. “I overthink and have trouble sleepin’ / All purpose gone and don’t have a reason / And there’s no doctor to stop this bleedin’ / So I left home and jumped in the deep end,” Ed Sheeran sings in verse one. He continues by adding that this person is feeling the weight of having disappointed his father and doesn’t have any friends to rely on in this difficult moment. In the second verse, Ed sings about the role of grief in his friend’s plight and his dwindling faith in prayer. “Saturday night is givin’ me a reason to rely on the strobe lights / The lifeline of a promise in a shot glass, and I’ll take that / If you’re givin’ out love from a plastic bag,” Ed sings on the chorus, as his friend turns to new vices in hopes of feeling better.
